Malaysia, September 1, 2010 – To celebrate the launch of PlayStation®Move in Malaysia, Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong Limited (SCEH) today announced that there will be new models for PlayStation®3 (PS3™) with higher storage capacity 160GB and 320GB Hard Disk Drive (HDD). The new PlayStation®3 (PS3™) system will become available in stores from September 15, 2010 in Malaysia at a very attractive suggested retail price (SRP) of MYR1,239 and MYR1,299 respectively.

The 160GB PS3™ system will come with 2 body colours, “Charcoal Black” (CECH-2506A) and “Classic White” (CECH-2506ALW), for users to choose to match with their home style. The 320GB PS3™ system will be in the most popular colour Charcoal Black (CECH-2506B). The new PS3 continues to offer all of the features and functions of the current models, with expanded storage hard disk drive to accommodate more games, personal photos and music, as well as entertainment content and services downloadable from PlayStation®Store for users to have greater enjoyment.

With the PlayStation®3 160GB and 320GB models, SCEH continues to expand the PS3 platform and create new boundaries for computer entertainment.

Whats the difference in gettin a ps3, a malaysia unit from a reseller/shop and gettin it from Sony Style Malaysia?

Bros I want to buy a PS3 320G.. last Sunday when i asked the sony centre and sony style the price was RM1299 they said i ll get the console alone and one controller without game or HDMI cable...

Is this the normal package with the exact price? I tried to bargain with them but they said it is a controlled price product and there is nothing to reduce.

But i read here that some of you have bought it for less price and some also got with HDMI cable.

Which is the best place to buy the original console with warranty and for low price?

I am confused  Please help me out...

I dun agree with u. who have old 2506 stock can sell even higher.....................bcoz of the firmware preloaded different........................haha.............u can see now 2506 SG set can sell easily above RM1200 now due to some demand of the older firmware.............

Bought mine at KLCC a few days ago.....

opted to buy it at a Sony store as for me its a good deal that gives u peace of mind..rather than saving just a little, but bigger probs IF anything unexpected occurs.

SCEH will also reduce the price of the PS3™ system with 320GB HDD, currently available at a SRP of MYR1,249, to SRP of MYR1,079. The new pricing will be effective starting August 22, 2011 for Malaysia.

compare to phat model few years back now ps3 is cheap la. you want cheaper for under rm1k go get sg set la. you can't get best of both world ok? because we got official launch here so the price has been regulated. if not sure ps3 now is rm1.3k. just look at how overprice wii selling here.

Sony style KLCC still has the CECH-2506 model? Anyone know what is the firmware version for it?

First of all pls don't annihilate me for asking some noob Q's cauz I am really not into these games stuffs.
I wanted to buy the PS3 for my kids.
Beside buying the console, extra controller and games (I guess must be at Sony Style) is there any other accessories that I need to buy to make it complete and pls do recommend the best game for football and war (planes).

Any inputs will be very much appreciated.
