considering a PS3 right now...would you guys recommend getting from Sony Style or outside shops which sell abt 300 bucks cheaper?

And when will they start giving Dualshock 3 controller as standard?

I asked some Sony Style shops...but they don't sell the console itself...
and weirdly...the Sony Centre allowed me to choose ANY games I like but Sony Style limit you to one 'best seller' game and one 'lousy' game

I'm hoping to find any shop selling the PS3 console (with at least one game) for between 1599 to 1699...any more and I'm better off going to buy from Sony Style

sigh...no chance of getting better packages outside?

found a shop selling PS3 Asian set 40gb for only 1299...so cheap. Anything bad about getting this package?

all the 14xx 80GB ones I found are Singapore set

but 400 bucks difference...that's a few trips to and back from Singapore
downside with these machines are there's no game bundled, while MY set got 2 game bundled (one rubbish game)

guess so...no point waiting any longer. Price doesn't seem to be moving an inch, and there's no sale/promo even this festive season.

I wonder if anyone here can help me. I'm trying to figure out the warranty difference between MY set and SG set. Talked to a salesperson today and he say the lens problem is not covered in the warranty, only labor is. Besides the lens...what does the MY warranty cover which SG does not? Or is it just the location of the repair centre?

hmm...some contradicting statements we have here. Anyone with a warranty card...maybe can help check if the lens is covered or not. If its in black and white, Sony can't escape.

my friend got 80gb MY set but he doesn't have the warranty card told him to go back to the shop and get it if can.

hmm...will ask him to check. How about the extended warranty? Someone, maybe GamersFamilia posted up pics of what MY set should contain and there was the form in one of the photos. My friend didn't get that when he purchased...

shops do not restrict customers to use certain CC...except for Amex maybe. This problem can be sourced to the bank itself. Maybe your friend's card over-limit?

thank god I bought the 1899 package. PS3 seems to be a bit more expensive now.

@doube_agent - Smart Choice's RM13xx is not Malaysian set. Its probably Singapore set. No warranty in Malaysia.
