Connection down again with frequent d/c or timeout. Reporting from Kelana Jaya, Damansara. Am now using 56K to surf.
I think come next month at PCFair, I'll turn to Izzi as my new broadband provider. TMNet's cavalier way of treating their customers just only pisses me off.

Hi all, thanks for the advice on the 60.xx.xx.xx IP problems. I restarted my modem a few times, and finally got an IP which started with 218.xx.xx.xx. However, after a few minutes, it disconnects and reverts to an IP starting with 60.xx.xx.xx even though I did not touch my modem - how on earth did they do that? Did Screamyx delibrately reallocate a 60.xx.xx.xx IP to me? Why did this happen, and how can I solve this problem (i.e. not use the 60.xx.xx.xx address until Screamyx sort their act out)?
Thanks

Thanks i think that only happen when you've dc.. you can check the log of your router to find out. because router is auto-connect as you know, if drop it will auto reconnect x_x

Unless, they change your port. *sorry again about .. ..

I tried using another modem and same problem. Maybe the signal dies and prompts the modem to reconnect - even the 218.xx addresses, though. Hopefully Screamyx can sort this out.

I haven't had disconnection yet but like in your previous post I get lost signal every 10-15 minutes. Takes around 50secs to get signal again. This is quite prominent for 2 days even though I already suffered slowdowns since 2 weeks back, maybe TM is splitting up the bandwidth with East Malaysia as they had serious problems since 3 weeks back.

Ya I lose signal every 10 minutes or so. It's due to a disconnection and reconnection of the modem - it doesn't look like a DC because my wireless continues broadcasting the signal even though the signal if broadcasts is no longer connected to the internet. After every dead signal, my IP changes, a sure sign that it was a disconnection.
Phew, I'm not the only one who has this problem - at least we know it's not our hardware problem, and just have to wait for Screamyx to act.

I don't understand this tendency anymore. LOL. Just today (Finally!), my connection has regained almost 80% of its original speed, while other people is still facing problems. Good Luck to you guys!
I am on 60.50.xx.xx at Penang Island (North). It has been smooth for almost 4 hours by now.
~Cheers!
