Hi, planning on getting Gainward HD4870.

One thing need be to certain. Is there anything that I should worry if I used the new GC with my current setup (refer sig).
The mobo and processor are old. I'm fear, the HD4870 will underperform.

Doesn't really matter... =/ My LCD no hdmi yet lol. But gonna be a problem when I change to one which has it.. or maybe I can "lend" from my friends that has 4850 and doesn't use hdmi... 

i think should be able to crossfire, as long as nothing blocks the crossfire gold fingers.

Finally started installing some real games and guess what, my system cannot play GRID nor Crysis! Both got artifacts all over T_T. Using Gainward 4850 GS, now I'm in the same boat as Kaellis.

Any other Gainward 4850 Golden Sample users here?

a lot of bling bling i see 

same problem i having with gainward 4850 gs screen goes blank black for a while then recover after a while happen again... during play games 
using furmark run a after few second screen goes blank and hang and i using stock factory clock..

My PSU is silverstone OP650 using the 8pin cable to powerup the video card also using P5N32 - E SLI Plus (Nvidia chipset board)anyway suspect vga card problem....will return to shop and get new gainward 4850 gs to try....

I'm still on the "original" 8.5 that came with my 4850...

Anyone using V-Power Gigabyte 2 cool down HD4850??? Can tis Cooler fit to my 4850? Planning to buy tis Cooler...Need comment please...

A question to clarify my doubts. Do we really need to cool down our GC that much?
Let's put aside whether it looks cool or not first here. The Akasa Vortexx neo looks cool indeed.

Cools well below 40 degrees.. for both cores, it idles from 35-36, 36-37, 37-38 degrees. Lowest it went was 35-35.    But OCZ Vendetta 2 may do better.. Why not go for Sunbeam's Contact Freezer? That's currently the King now i think.

This happened on GAMES so far.

Actually there's something worst than those blank screens.. I ran DMC4 and Crysis, both games crashed with red and blue screens respectively.. Crysis was more often than DMC4. Before it crashed, the whole screen pixelated and poof. After rebooting, Vista's solution finder popped up, indicating that it is ati's drivers fault. << I believe the driver ain't stable on SP1 32 bit yet..

During 8.7, i notice the crummy blank screens d. About 8.6.. I didn't remember coz was thinking newer drivers = definitely stable based on this thread. Updated right away before started gaming.

BTW already installed the display driver before it crashed.

Eeeks. Help?

I've yet to try 3dmark06.. maybe this weekend.
