Planning to get an amp anytime soon. I need an amp that's good for the Red Hot Chili Peppers (especially Give It Away) kind of sound. I know John Frusciante plays a Marshall with a little bit of gain on it, but I need that in a smaller wattage. Can anyone recommend me some? Thanks. Oh it doesn't have to be a Marshall if the sound can be produced by another amp.

Well I don't need a big amp, just a practice amp but also good enough to have a mic over it. Maybe around RM700 should be ok and about 15w~25w. Any brand will do as long as it gives me that sound or close enough. Thanks!

Get a Vox Valvetronic or a Line 6 amp... You won't be able to get the tube overdrive tone with cheap SS amps..
They do come in 15W and 30W and they are within your budget... I would personally recommend the Vox because their Valvetronic series are able to produce realistic overdrive tube tones..

^ +1 The Vox Valvetronic is a decent enough budget amp to get that Frusciante tone. But of course nothing will get you the exact sound unless you get some vintage Marshalls, a '52 Strat with reverse wound pickups and a huge-ass pedalboard . God i love Frusciante's tone.

^ Ok I'll take a look at that amp. If anyone else can suggest, it would be helpful. Thanks!
