Hey guys... i wonder if any of you have experienced this before. I keep getting a message on my iPhone 1st Gen 16Gb: "This accessory is not made to worh with iphone" Would you like to turn on Airplane mode to reduce audio interference? You will not be able to make any calls...blah blah blah.. Okay. This message comes on periodically now and then, when i do not have any accessories connected to it! The first time it happened is when i use the car charger i got with the iphone. Any similar problems out there?

Same here, got the same message when I use the Universal iPod Dock. This is just a way of saying the accessories you're using is not compatible with the iPhone while it is not in Airplane mode. Until you get the "Made for the iPhone" approved accessories, you will have to bear with it.

Precisely, press and hold the both button for more than 10 sec, your phone will reboot with a reset processing

Same here on my DLO iBoom Travel Portable Speakers. Like String said, it's normal for any accessories which aren't iPhone certified. They work perfectly fine, except the iPhone doesn't recognize it like mentioned in the error message. Will have to bear with it Regarding your issue where the error comes up without anything connected, may I suggest a firmware restore as an option if things get desperate? Another guy who had the same problem had his unit replaced FOC by his local Apple Store, pity though because we're not in the States. http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=432454I also read that sometimes it could be due to some crap getting stuck up your iPhone's dock connector. Try lightly sticking a small pin in there and check whether anything's stuck inside, or if you're paranoid, a flush with some compressed air. Good luck, mate! Okay... thanks for all your trouble shooting... but it still does not solve the problem... From what i've learned so far:
"This accessory is not made to worh with iphone" Would you like to turn on Airplane mode to reduce audio interference? You will not be able to make any calls...blah blah blah.."
Pops up now and then...
And when i play my music via the provided headphones, the audio cuts off BUT STILL the song is playing.
I've lightly brushed the connectors both audio and the jack below. The problem persists. Do you think i should *gulp* reinstall everything????

Indeed, mate, as grim as it may sound, you're left with 2 options now. The first, and least troublesome, would be a firmware restore. However, this is only a minor possibility as many similar reports of such problems in the Apple Support Discussion section concluded with the owner sending it in for 1-to-1 replacement. You have my blessings, mate. Hit the Restore button and keep your fingers crossed.

*whew* After searching (using different search words, dammit) I've found the solution. The matter to the fact is not a software problem nor is there a soft fix for it. It seems A LOT of people have the same problem. The silver lining though is that one can fix it by themselves. I found a source here. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7519708But i guess i have to spend time to fix it...
