Maxis' New Hotlink Plan Prolongs Line Life For 365 Days

KUALA LUMPUR, July 16 (Bernama) -- Maxis Communication Bhd introduced its new Hotlink plan, Hotlink 365, which allows customers to keep their line active longer.

Its head of consumer marketing from business division, Tan Lay Han said the new plan will allow both existing and new customers to make and receive calls for the entire 365 days.

"Now customers have the flexibility to reload anytime to make calls within the 365 days without uninterrupted service with Hotlink 365," he told reporters at the launch of the new plan, here Wednesday.

Tan said Hotlink 365 was unique compared to other plan available in the market, where they offer validity periods of between 10 to 30 days and customers are required to reload to be able to make outgoing calls.

To subscribe the plan, prepaid customers only need to pay RM33 for one year validity and top up RM30 for the first six months of signing up.

"We are certain that Hotlink 365 will benefit our customers by allowing them to keep their lines active for a longer period," he said.

According to Tan, Maxis' postpaid and prepaid market share currently stands at 41.7 percent.

In order to maintain the top position in the prepaid service, he said Maxis will consistently offer innovative products to its customers.

To date, the company has eight million prepaid subscribers and expects the number to increase.

U dun have to reload every month 30.. u just need to transfer over rm10 from any other no. every week, which costs 50c.. times 52 weeks is rm26.. but of cos there is the hassle involved when sharing credit this way.

Is the rm33 going into the airtime or is it a total loss? brows.gif

questions
-rm33 are considered as airtime also? or it like as registration fee, paid & fly away.
-'top up RM30 for the first six months of signing up' after sign up, must top up at least rm30 in 6 months period? so it can hold only for 6 months but not 1 year for? need top up rm30 only get 1 year validity?
-existing user also has this 'function'? or only for new hotlink 365?
-this 365 is classified in new hotlink plan?

QUOTE(jack7155 @ Jul 17 2008, 11:04 AM)
FAQ (Peninsular Malaysia Version)

1. What is Hotlink 365?

Hotlink 365 is Malaysia’s first one-year active prepaid plan. For 365 validity days (one year) you won’t have to top up your account to maintain an active mobile phone line. You can SMS and make outgoing calls simply by topping up your airtime credits when you desire within this time period.

2. What does Hotlink 365 offer compared to Hotlink Plan?

Upon subscribing to Hotlink 365, you will enjoy 365 validity days instead of the standard validity days you receive from each top up made on Hotlink Plan (e.g. top up RM10 and only get 10 validity days).

3. How do I subscribe to Hotlink 365? How much will I be charged?

For new customers:
Activate a new Hotlink starter pack
Top up to ensure a minimum credit of RM33 is in your account
Dial *108*6#

Existing customers:
Top up to ensure a minimum credit of RM33 is in your account
Dial *108*6#

Note: For existing customers, please ensure that your account is active

Once your subscription is successful, a non-returnable subscription fee of RM33 will be deducted from your account.

4. If I subscribe to Hotlink 365, what will be my call and SMS rates?

Hotlink 365 gives you the best call and SMS rates similar to our current best rate plan, which is Hotlink Plan.
    Call rates
Normal With RM30 top up or more
(valid for 30days) SMS Rates
Activ10 15sen/min 15sen/min 1sen/SMS
Hotlink to same network 39sen/min 36sen/min 7sen/SMS
Hotlink to different network 49sen/min 36sen/min 15sen/SMS

5. I’m an existing Hotlink customer. If I subscribe to Hotlink 365, will I maintain my promotional free talktime/SMS/points from my current plan?

Yes. You will maintain your promotional free talktime/SMS/points from your previous plan.

6. I’ve subscribed to Hotlink 365. But after using it for 3 months, I want to switch back to my old plan or to another plan. Can I do so?

No. You cannot migrate to any other plans until your Hotlink 365 expires. Your Hotlink 365 will only expire for the following reasons:

a) Failure to fulfill the accumulated top up condition of RM30 in the first six months of the subscription
b) Failure to renew your Hotlink 365 when the 365 validity days are over.

Note: You’ll be auto-switched to Hotlink Plan when your Hotlink 365 subscription expires.

CONDITIONS

1. Is there a condition I need to meet during my subscription to Hotlink 365?

Yes. You will need to accumulate top up of RM30 or more in the first six months of your 365 validity days. (e.g. a minimum of RM5 x 6 months or RM10 x 3 months).

2. I’ve subscribed to Hotlink 365. But I did not accumulate RM30 or more top up credits in the first six months of my 365 validity days. What will happen?

If you did not fulfill the condition by Day 180, your Hotlink 365 subscription (and the remaining 180 validity days) will expire immediately. After that, you will be auto-switched to Hotlink Plan. You will then have to top up to earn your validity days (e.g. top up RM10 and get 10 validity days). You can subscribe to Hotlink 365 again by just dialing *108*6# and paying the RM33 annual fee.

RENEWAL

1. My 365 validity days are expiring soon. How can I renew it? How much will I be charged?

You will receive a renewal invitation SMS 30 days before your plan’s expiry date. Just follow the instruction to renew. Once the renewal is successful, RM33 will be deducted from your account.

2. What happens if I don’t renew the plan?

You will be auto-switched to Hotlink Plan. You will now have to top up to earn your validity days (e.g. top up RM10 and get 10 validity days). You can always subscribe to Hotlink 365 again by just dialing *108*6# and paying the RM33 annual fee.

Note : Extract from Hotlink website
*
1st. Pay Rm33 a total loss, not an airtime.
2nd. Must reload RM30 within the 1st 6 months. [ "after tht can enjoy ZERO reload for the remaining 6 months. " my personal opinion dun know correct o not. ]

the catch is, once u failed to renew ur 365days plan, u have to re-subscribe again n again pay RM33 again.

hope my summary is correct. if anything wrong, pls advise.

Overall, I see the plan is real lousy!!! Yeah, it is good to have a longer period of validity. But so what? That will cost some amount also, why can't they give us free?

Overall, still losing to other country. Real disappointing!!!

Ya

Activation will cost RM 33 yearly (minus from User account)

and within first 6 months you have to topup at least Rm30 (cumulative),
which means this rm30 will be your talktime for the whole year if you are the save types, because you need talktime to call also. cool2.gif

This plan is good for students

Nice plan but lousy execution by maxis . I think Digi will come up with a better concept at a cheaper price. I hope they do cause it would seriously glue Maxshit's Maxis' Mouth.

Oh yeah , I am a maxis user too.. Waiting for the number portability and voila , I'll switch to DiGi !

MNP is going to be delayed most likely since our big telco brother, Celcom might not able to meet the commited launch date.

All mobile Telcos will have to comply with the MCMC's new directive that they must introduce new prepaid packages with longer validity periods at least 180 days.
Lets just wait for the Celcom, Digi, Happy, U mobile new packages before paying Hotlink RM33 buta buta.

if change to this plan , it become RM33.00+ RM30.00+RM30.00

==RM93.00 only ....

it is good for people who seldom use their hotlink number. For those who reload frequently, no need to waste RM33 to pay for a year's validity.

it is good for people who seldom use their hotlink number. For those who reload frequently, no need to waste RM33 to pay for a year's validity.

Mind to explain this more? I thought it should be we pay RM33 for a year validity, then only reload RM30 within 6 months, no?

I seldom use my hotlink number due to I am in Singapore working now. Tell you what, hotlink give me better reward and keep 'urging' me to reward with min top up of RM10 only. 1 more thing, I reload in Singapore, auto extend to 6 months validity. Starter pack is 1 year validity nod.gif

Heavy users will definitely use more than RM100 within a 100 day validity period. That is to say, they will reload before the 100-day grace period, and their validity will be extended everytime after reload.

Paying another RM33 to get 1 year validity for heavy users will mean they just throw away RM33 for nothing.

Added on July 18, 2008, 8:47 pmNvm i just found out how

Have a min credit of RM 33 then type tis code in *108*6#

For more info on HOTLINK 365

http://www.hotlink.com.my/web/portal/hotli...seDefaultDesc=0

Q1: What is Hotlink 365?

A: Hotlink 365 is Malaysia's first one-year active prepaid plan. For 365 validity days (one year) you won't have to top up your account to maintain an active mobile phone line. You can SMS and make outgoing calls simply by topping up your airtime credits when you desire within this time period.

Q2: What does Hotlink 365 offer compared to Hotlink Plan?

A: Upon subscribing to Hotlink 365, you will enjoy 365 validity days instead of the standard validity days you receive from each top up made on Hotlink Plan (e.g. top up RM10 and only get 10 validity days).

Q3: How do I subscribe to Hotlink 365? How much will I be charged?

A: For new customers:
Activate a new Hotlink starter pack
Top up to ensure a minimum credit of RM33 is in your account
Dial *108*6#

Existing customers:
Top up to ensure a minimum credit of RM33 is in your account
Dial *108*6#

Note: For existing customers, please ensure that your account is active

Once your subscription is successful, a non-returnable subscription fee of RM33 will be deducted from your account.

Q4: If I subscribe to Hotlink 365, what will be my call and SMS rates?

A: Hotlink 365 gives you the best call and SMS rates similar to our current best rate plan, which is Hotlink Plan.

Call rates SMS Rates
Normal With RM30 top up or more
(valid for 30days)
Activ10 15sen/min 15sen/min 1sen/SMS
Hotlink to same network 39sen/min 36sen/min 7sen/SMS
Hotlink to different network 49sen/min 36sen/min 15sen/SMS

Q5: I'm an existing Hotlink customer. If I subscribe to Hotlink 365, will I maintain my promotional free talktime/SMS/points from my current plan?

A: Yes. You will maintain your promotional free talktime/SMS/points from your previous plan.

Q6: I've subscribed to Hotlink 365. But after using it for 3 months, I want to switch back to my old plan or to another plan. Can I do so?

A: No.

Note: You'll be auto-switched to Hotlink Plan when your Hotlink 365 subscription expires.

CONDITIONS

Q1: Is there a condition I need to meet during my subscription to Hotlink 365?

A: Yes. You will need to accumulate top up of RM30 or more in the first six months of your 365 validity days. (e.g. a minimum of RM5 x 6 months or RM10 x 3 months).

Q2: I've subscribed to Hotlink 365. But I did not accumulate RM30 or more top up credits in the first six months of my 365 validity days. What will happen?

A: If you did not fulfill the condition by Day 180, your Hotlink 365 subscription (and the remaining 180 validity days) will expire immediately. After that, you will be auto-switched to Hotlink Plan. You will then have to top up to earn your validity days (e.g. top up RM10 and get 10 validity days). You can subscribe to Hotlink 365 again by just dialing *108*6# and paying the RM33 annual fee.

RENEWAL

Q1: My 365 validity days are expiring soon. How can I renew it? How much will I be charged?

A: You will receive a renewal invitation SMS 30 days before your plan's expiry date. Just follow the instruction to renew. Once the renewal is successful, RM33 will be deducted from your account.

Q2: What happens if I don't renew the plan?

A: You will be auto-switched to Hotlink Plan. You will now have to top up to earn your validity days (e.g. top up RM10 and get 10 validity days). You can always subscribe to Hotlink 365 again by just dialing *108*6# and paying the RM33 annual fee.

for me , every month need top up RM30.00

then one year become RM360.

if change to this plan , it become RM33.00+ RM30.00+RM30.00

==RM93.00 only ....

1) Activate on Friday ( PAID DAMN RM 33 )
2) Monday no sms confirmation ( TODAY)
3) Called hotlink support complain
4) Open report
5) At the same day evening WALLA.

Because i am not a heavy user so this package is for me. I am 80% at the campus zone so my calls to maxis are 15 cent per min and sms 1 cent to any maxis number.
VVIP owner will start to abuse this of course for the right person to buy hahaha

sounds good for me, but i am not too sure, i do not a heavy user, and i always need to top-up every month to get my line activated, and the extra credit i have, i share top-up with my parents.. smile.gif

Not sure, which is cheaper, so, i need to do some calculation first, including my parent's too.. smile.gif

But this thread has let me understood the plan more clear, thanks all..!! rclxms.gif notworthy.gif

Perhaps you shall consider to do below:

Postpaid ---> Prepaid ---> Hotlink 365

Perhaps postpaid may have better offering later.

this is to fight with HAPPY
60 days validity @ RM 5.00 = 1 year 7 times RELOAD = RM 35 per year

BUT that HAPPY amount can be used for CALLS

compared to MAXIS collect ACCESS fee of RM 33 per year plus RM 30 minimum reload

expensive

RM 0.99 cent for 45 mins its worth it but remember 1 thing there are some people that travel around alot and there are times they wont be around for few months so 1 year validity helps you eliminate this problem.

that is a wrong way to look at this. Ask yourself RM 30 X 12 = you need pay RM 360 just to stay active.

but currently you pay RM 33 + RM 30 a 6 months reload RM30 + another 6 months reload = Its only RM 93.

Its a saving of RM267 no matter how u look at it. Its a waste of money because you dont understand but i think its very worthy for me

RM33 will be deduct from your airtime upon subscribing to Hotlink 365 plan

QUOTE(Joshua_0718 @ Jul 21 2008, 04:16 PM)
...then only reload RM30 within 6 months, no?
*
Yes. You will need to accumulate top up of RM30 or more in the first six months of your 365 validity days

e.g. a minimum of RM5 x 6 months or RM10 x 3 months

this accumulate top up of RM30 is yours (meaning your airtime)

just like opening a bank acct

e.g. user must have a minimum of RM500 to open a bank acct (the RM500 is still yours, not the bank)

owwh, do correct me if i'm wrong, maxis doesnt state info on this clearly enough icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(soul2soul @ Jul 21 2008, 04:21 PM)

RM33 (subscription fee) + RM30 (for the 1st six month) = RM63

btw, my calculation above is just for fulfilling the minimum requirement to stay active 365 days smile.gif

yes, obviously any kind of promo customer wins but seriously man, digi and maxis promo getting dumber n dumber

first the 36sen/min =,
maxis, wah loo topup rm30 only can get that rate, if topup below rm30 call rate 46/48 cent LOLOL
digi, have to use chatplus and need to subscribe it manually, those who are noobs will be charge 48cents...those who use Fu-Yoh plans..lOLOL can only enjoy that 1hour thing, 7cent sms and hav to pay rm3 everymonth..and normal calls cost 48cents!

2nd the active10/ my first 11...
wow lame, at least maxis doubles the no. that can be added 5->10..
digi, not less than double..from 6 to 11 numbers.

now this 1year validity shit..talk about creativity yawn.gif
both telco copycat each other

i suggest they copy aussie's telco
free 10min calls to same network thumbup.gif

from what i've read:
RM33 for 365 days.
need to maintain credit of RM30 in the first 6 months.
30 days before the one-year period lapses, maxis will send an SMS for renewal.

i suggest they copy aussie's telco
free 10min calls to same network  thumbup.gif

it's not about creativity, copycat, etc etc,
it's about which telco can serve better deal.

hotlink : need to pay RM33
digi : top up RM100, no extra charge

mmm...at least we are getting something, better than nothing at all.

oh, btw if any of the telcos copy the aussie's one, u will accuse it to be copycat. so what's the point? (for u la)

but yeah, there r so much things left for our telcos here to be improvised, to serve the customer better (of which IMHO they r interested on maximising profits more than serving better services, it's the nature of their business)

at least their promos r not getting dumber and dumber.

nahhh... i think they're feel some pressure/ other some telco to beat em... just like latest promotion from umobile which is company also known as MiTV Corporation.. like their slogan 'pay for what u use'... (not sure about that).. lol

for sure, there would be some fighting2 lah just like before, hotlink try to beat digi promotion... after all, customer get confusing... why not? they use their system and must folows the rules and also the 'trend'... its not sounds trendy when always keep to update just like 'lalang ditiup angin'... get there when the benefits goes on... duhh... (like an idiot)... mad.gif

after the war goes down... their past promises also keep lasting, and put a new prices / make any change of the terms... (thats wrote in their term which told 'customers are under agreements to follow their terms and terms change without prior notice..) **ie; last time supersaver promotion rm2 make call from 1am-1pm... then its change to; 1am-7pm... and latest supersaver charge rm3 for 60mins (1am-9am)... rclxub.gif

i think, better they get some win-win / fairplay lor... dont play2 with customer even they know that customer not have much choises (hard to say, play safe) hahahah... whistling.gif

The ad from Hotlink which says that you mush have at least RM33 in your account to subscribe is misleading.

They should be more straightforward by saying that RM33 is chargeable to activate your Hotlink 365 service.

If you are looking from Maxis angle, "you must have at least RM33" and "RM33 is chargeable", the former sounds better rather then "charge".
I would say this is the most appropriate phrase maxis must use to lessen the element of charging. If can confuse 50% of the public, then this is a very successful ad champaign.

This is not the matter of sound pleasant or not. It's more about hiding facts, releasing things only in small fine prints to avoid getting noticed.

What if some customer doesn't know and thought that if he has over RM33 and goes subscribing for it only to find out his balance getting zerorised? Will he get a refund or will Maxis reverse the thing back for him?
Considered gone already..effortless money.

It's good that they tell before hand that the charges to maintain your prepaid account for a year is RM33.
Telling people in their tv ad that you need to have at least RM33 in your account to activate the service doesn't make things clear enough, sound more like a catch.

No point using the hotlink365 plan. there is a much cheaper method than that.

if u are a low user and just to stay active only then use the following method.

1) get a extra new prepaid number

2) use share credit transfer to transfer Rm10 credit to the other number (will active again for 7 days + another 30 days to terminate) when the other number is going to terminate about 3 months time frame but the line still active can receive call.

3) each transfer cost only 50 cents. ( 1 year only transfer 4 times( every 3 month transfer) about Rm2 only) transfer to and back cost only Rm4 a year.

compare to annual fee subscription of 33 for 365 days paying for nothing right. only for subscription and some more have to reload rm30 every six months

By using the above u save alot

I have RM100++ in my prepaid, let's say if I wanna change to Hotlink365,I need to

(1)Dial *108*6# (RM33 will be taken from my balance right?)
(2)TOP UP RM30 within the first 6months(Compulsory?)
(3)Account will stay active for 1 year?

In conclusion,in 1 year I need to spend RM63 for validity?

I'm not a very heavy user,I'm using the Hotlink number because of the numbers same with my DiGi numbers. biggrin.gif
If for DiGi,no doubt,no swt,I will straight reload RM100 for 1 year validity.

I've subscribed to Hotlink 365.

It's not really confusing.

To get the feature, just dial the short code and RM 33 will be deducted instantly. Wait for roughly 24 hours to 36 hours to have your account to be updated.

Within 6 months, you need to reload at least RM 30 (once time or several smaller denominations) in order to keep the so called privilege.

Otherwise, if you didn't fulfill the above, your validity will revert back to normal.

Call rate, SMS rate, Activ5 and etc will not be disturbed. It retained as what you have subscribed.

365 plan? What a crap plan... Compare with Singapore plan will show Maxis like a noob plan.

Last week,I juz sign up for Singtel Plan in Singapore. I juz need to pay $268 to get a N82 and for the 1st 6 mths, i juz need to pay $5.35 to enjoy 1st 100 mins of free calls and 500 of free sms... After 6 mths, it will be $25.35 for 1st 100 mins of free calls and 500 of free sms...

So good compare to this noob Maxis plan asking ppl to pay RM33 somemore to enjoy 365 validity period..

Digi still the smarter choice.
although i'm using Maxis and Umobile-postpaid-->customer service is free.

if calculate RM33 / 12months = RM2.75 (u only pay for this every month to maintain it.)

The marketing of Hotlink has problem. They should know big figures often scares customer away. They should put like UMobile. let the user calculate themselves. Given smaller numbers. And why don't Hotlink put a one second block counting? this will put telco provider to better challenges.. All we want is cheap and good service.. We users don't need any advertisements/concerts/special offer - free but not free rewards. rclxub.gif

Er... sometimes it is nothing wrong to give a comparison between country to country. By knowing what are the mobile packages out side of Malaysia, the consumers can always put forwards complaints by quoting examples from neighbouring countries to MCMC and MCMC will then put pressure to local telcos. I think one good example was the recent directive from MCMC to ask telcos to introduce long validity prepaid packages as Thailand and Singapore already have similar packages since 2007.

yes you're right. But their explanation is rather too direct ...
indirect is better... although it will trigger a lot of dissatisfaction
but well, there's the marketing plan, it's either use it or kena flame.

First of all, I use more than RM 30 a month so it's no problem.

Second of all, if I don't? Credit sharing FTW!

Aiyo.. RM2.75 a month only is what? Some people even pay RM3 bucks a month for Caller Ringtones last time. I still think it's fair. At least they start with the whole 1 year validity plan. And Digi is just counteracting so far with it's until 31st Aug plan.

RM63 to retain a number vs RM100 to retain a number? Both have their own pros and cons.

The arguement was for Maxis, RM 33 is blindly given to Hotlink while for DiGi, your RM 100 is still intact in your account.

is it correct that not reload oneshot rm30 within the first 6 months but must be a cumulative of rm30? meaning cannot one time load rm30 but must add for eg. rm10 x 3, or rm5 x6?

Cumulative means that you can reload one shot or break your reload into smaller amount.

Within 6 months, your cumulative (total) reload amount must reach at least RM 30.

I will consider this plan. I don't call/sms much..currently I don't topup but extend my validity period by transferring credit back and forth between me and my sister every 7 days. However I am starting to find this extremely tiring!

as i heard digi need rm100 for 365 days, that rm100 is a airtime or 'fly away' money? if rm100 just for activateion, then hotlink 365 is much more cheaper.

I think it's better to seperate the discussion.

We have two running threads on Hotlink 365 and one thread about DiGi reload promotion for 365 days validity period till end of August.

Blending the discussion here and there will be confusing the readers.

for me,i think this plan is no good coz u need to pay rm33 just to keep ur line active for a year...
compare to digi which allow u to stay for a year after u topup rm100...
*
YOu know what is the problem? YOU DONT UNDERSTAND.

Ok IF MNP is there then we can just get DIGI offer
but problem what if you own HOTLINK to get the benefit of 365 u need pay RM33 as fee or pay RM30 every month just to stay active.

Its nothing about good or not its call having the option to choose.
For me i prefer paying RM 63 and i can continue using it for a year then reloading every month RM30.
due to my spending every month less than RM 5. I just need it to be active so when i need it i can use.

Do you understand now?

Digi is better than Hotlink...
but that doesn't mean that loyal hotlink would have to change their mobile numbers because of the promo issue..

It cost a lot of hassle just to change a phone number... and I know that...
that's why, even if hotlink lose digi by that bit,
the 365 plan ...it still save u lots of cost * provided that u still have lots of credit left, but u still have to topup RM30 to keep active for a month...
u get to spend RM30 x 6 months = RM180
if u get 365 plan u spend not only "RM63", but u get to keep the line active for 1 year.

RM100 to keep active for one year from digi is tempting... but , what if ur friends are all using hotlink?
RM100 sufficient to call ur friends? no...u'll use up ur credit faster than u can imagine.

Well, I'm not helping any msp, i'm only elaborating on my own opinion.

You see, if I want to keep my line active for 1 year, I need to pay Digi RM100. I get poorer by RM100.

If I want to keep my line active for 1 year, I need only pay RM33 to Hotlink and top up another RM30. In total I get poorer by RM63 only.

In this 2 scenario, Digi profit more than Hotlink.

It depends. You paying in advance only! If u reload RM30 monthly it profit DIGI every month .

Now u reload RM 100 and use for a year do you how much DIGI lose? due to turnover?

Profit of course MAXIS because u lose your RM33 just like that in other hand RM100 is all yours to spend.

You dont get poorer but paying in advance for more benefits.

Now u pay RM 100 = 365 days or u pay RM 30 every month and add up a year RM 360 just to be able to call out.

U pay RM120 then u get 365 days = 4 months
Now these few group of ppl dont reload within 8months

Just to ask a question.

If my Hotlink still has 1 month validity and I wish to activate Hotlink 365, would the 1 year period starts from my activation date or 1year after the end of my existing 1 month validity period. ie. Should I wait to activate later?

Thank you.

It is very interesting to read comments from different perspectives and different view points from different mobile phone users. Therefore i can't say Digi is better nor Maxis. It all depend on the usage pattern and preference of individual user. I think the argument of Maxis offered lower cost (RM63) to maintain the line for one year for Hotlink users is quite valid.

From my past observation, Celcom always preferred to counter market competition after Maxis and Digi revealed its packages. Though is slow but the advantage is Celcom can see the opponent's cards first before throwing out its cards. Usually, Celcom will make its package slightly better than Digi and Maxis.

Usually....but you have to read the fine print. They always have fine print. For eg: when they launch who says they have the lowest call rate 0.35sen/min...did they care to mention that it's ONLY for Xpax - Xpax calls ONLY? wherelse Hotlink and Digi maintains one rate to all networks....even if they are 36sen. In the long run, who will you save more with? Dont tell me all your friends and family are only on Celcom.....

For you, RM63 is the best because you only wanna maintain that line right and RM63 is the min. amount. For me, I don't like the fact that RM33 will be lost. I like the Digi Rm100 plan better although its more expensive. Everyone has their own choices depending on what they want. Sadly I am hotlink user T_T.

I think Digi have fine print too. I have had hard time to educate my Digi prepaid friends that their 1st RM30 usage in a calender month is 48cts per min. But my friends insisted the rate is 36cts per min. This show how successful Digi advertisement confused the public. In fact all Telco's ad just published the best deal but hide the tnc in the web site. So i don't think it is fair to accuse Celcom only using fine print tactic.

Just curious how many did actually activate the 365 days promotion?

Share with us your reason of doing so.

I didn't.

I maintain 2 hotlink lines and i hardly put into the phone. some more just need RM5 every 3 months to maintain the line, cheaper than RM65.

while the...

students in the school/matriculation/university say "just what we've been waiting for"

parents say "good for my children, i just need a number to call em whenever & wherever i want to know their wherebouts or to ask whether they have school activities/curriculum in the evening"

non-heavy users say "rm33!! thats cheap, i'll be dumber if i top-up every month just for the sake to stay active"

About the condition of minimum rm30 top up during the first 6 months,

can we get someone to transfer rm30 to us, then we transfer back to them (via Share-A-Top-Up feature)?
after all that is a valid top up method also right?
then only need to pay the RM33 subscription fee + RM0.50 x2(share a top-up fee)

Good Question. I guess you have to continue to top up RM30 in order to qualify for 36cts.

Just remember that by subscribing to Hotlink 365, it won't alter your call plan - Hotlink, Total, Easy, Talk or SMS.

I'm currently on Hotlink Plan, and I do not topup RM30 every month, I topup RM5 every 2 month just to maintain my number, so my calling rate is RM0.39/min to nationwide. I'm thinking of switching to Hotlink365 but their rate seems very confusing for me sweat.gif . Like David83 said, it won't alter my hotlink call plan, but why hotlink stated there RM0.49/min(hotlink to other network)? Thats mean I need to pay extra RM0.10 to call from Maxis to other network hmm.gif But i think is worth to change to Hotlink365 plan for user like me hmm.gif

Q4: If I subscribe to Hotlink 365, what will be my call and SMS rates?
A: Hotlink 365 gives you the best call and SMS rates similar to our current best rate plan, which is Hotlink Plan.

Call rates

Hotlink to same network 39sen/min
Hotlink to different network 49sen/min

With RM30 top up or more(valid for 30days)
Activ10 15sen/min
Hotlink to same network 36sen/min
Hotlink to different network 36sen/min

SMS Rates
Activ10 1sen/SMS
Hotlink to same network 7sen/SMS
Hotlink to different network 15sen/SMS

just wanna make sure that if I top up RM60, the 36cent rate will last only 30days but not 60days right?
49cents to other network is really a terrible thing. I phone my house phone I will be charged 49cents , phone Indonesia(my brother is there) kena charged around 50cents only!!!
My own conclusion: phoning own house is like phoning to overseas. = ="

That's bad thing since land line numbers are categorized as other category.

Unless you use X-pax, you can add Telekom numbers to you 8pax list.

When MNP is starting,
1) If Your Friend Didnt Tell U If He / She Already convert To Others Telco. Its might Cost U A Bomb for Call / SMS, It is?

2) If 1 Of your active10 change the telco, i think the rate is different?
Cause no more maxis-maxis, but maxis-other telco.

3) U also dont know, your customer use maxis telco or others, then when u reply call/sms its not charge to Maxis-Maxis, but Maxis to Others Telco. Like Hidden Cost. hehehhe

4) The good point is, we can keep our current no.

Once there is MNP, consumers will be unable to identify "telco-specific" numbers.
Therefore, there won't be anymore "telco-specific" discrimination rates.
There will be flat-rates.
Ergo, you will be digi.

One catch with this is for instance you have existing RM105 credit (wherein you can buy from any maxis store for RM100), and you have 100 days validity. So then you activate hotlink365, deducting RM33 from your credit. Therefore you have RM72 left. Ok, fine, still with me?

Now, after activation, you will then have to reload at least RM30 before six months elapse to still enjoy hotlink-365 days validity.

You know what's lost here? The moment hotlink365 gets activated, you will now have 365 days validity. Now, where was the validity of the previous 100 days (the initial load)? Gone. Because hotlink365 takes over as it has longer validity.

This means, its best to subscribe to hotlink365 when your validity remaining is 5 days (and you still have RM33 credit) to maximize the existing validity you have. More than 5 days its a waste.

Moreover, also remember the rule that before subscribing to hotlink 365, you must have 5 active days remaining to maintain continuous service because processing its activation takes 3 days on deactivated ones.

@xpest, sometimes i think Hotlink really gives some perks to random subscribers. for your part, you just need to topup RM30 and you already spared the RM33 subscription charge to Hotlink365, lucky since you save that RM33. you will then just need to topup a total of RM30 for the next 180 days to ensure the Hotlink365 will remain active.

So, was your subscription activated last week? Any update?

Hi, I am working in Singapore and I only use my hotlink SIM when I go back my hometown. My hotlink SIM which is supposed to expire last week (I only topped up RM5 last Saturday) has expiry date f 18Dec2009. Weird... Because I only switch on my SIM during the weekend that I come back hometown, I might have missed any instruction sms from maxis (whether was my SIM activated with 365 plann)...

it should be extra plan, because previously hotlink 365 is based on 60 seconds block, extra plan also 60 seconds plan.
moreover,
i believe for those using hotlink 365 receive something sms mentined about '33sen for the 1st minute & 25sen/min for the rest of the call (to Maxis/Hotlink numbers)'
and this call rate also based on 60 seconds call rate.

A question to ask, after I switched to Hotlink 365 plan, and RM33 is deducted, if I still have RM30, then I no need to top up already to fulfill accumulated top up condition of RM30 in the first six months already?

The correct method is active 365 days will deduct RM33 then u need reload another RM30 so total = RM63.

Hello all,
I've read through this thread so my understanding of the conditions for this hotlink 365 are:
1. Credit must be more than RM33 and plan must be active.
2. Top up a accumulated amount of RM30 in the next 6 months.

is this correct?
going to change for my mom since she seldom call..

another thing,
after I change to this plan, it will deduct RM33 right,
so after 6months if i dun top up at all, then my validation will expired, right?
so this RM33 I used valid for 6 months..
then I subscript to hotlink 365 again... it deduct RM33 again,
and my plan valid for 6months again!
isn't this more worth than normal topup RM30 = 1 month??
is there somewhere I miss out so it lead me wrong?? hmm.gif
hope someone can clarify.. notworthy.gif

is there somewhere I miss out so it lead me wrong??  hmm.gif

it actually depends on your usage. If u always reload monthly RM30 this plan is useless for u
If you can actually spend RM30 in 3 to 4 months then plan is for u.

What ppl usually do is buy 2 reload card RM30 + RM40

First they use the RM40 to activate it then straight reload RM30 after tat u dont even need to bother within which month going to reload another RM30.
Since i use HYC i have 4 years validity and i have cheaper call rates so RM30 i can use for 2 to 3 months compare to 1 month i use RM30

I think it is just too worth it for us average users. The minimum yearly cost of the normal plan is (with too much credits to spare):
30 x 12 months = RM360.

With this yearly subscription the minimum yearly cost is only:
33 + 30 (1st 6 months) + 30 (2nd 6 months) = RM93

Therefore the amount saved is:
360 - 93 = RM267

Q3: How do I subscribe to Hotlink 365? How much will I be charged?
# A: For new customers: Activate a new Hotlink starter pack
# Dial *100#

# Existing customers: Dial *100#

Note: For existing customer, kindly ensure that your account has a minimum of 5 active days

Once the subscription is successful, a non-returnable subscription fee of RM33 will be deducted from your account.

The new number to dial for existing users is *100#

I see some selling of share a topup (validity of topup RM5-RM9 3 days, RM10 7days). Can the share a topup be used to subscribe to Hotlink365 then, effectively prolonging the active phase for a year?

Example: I buy RM100 share-a-topup, so I have credit of RM100 valid for 7 days only. Of course I cannot use up RM100 in 7 days. So then I register then to Hotlink365, therefore RM67 credit left (possible or not?). Then I topup afterwards using a RM30 card to satisfy the Hotlink365 requirement. So then now I have total of RM97, but valid for a year.

Is that example valid?

Thanks!

How do you renew the 365 subscription? Nothing obvious in *100#. Or need to wait for the reminder/instructions first?

thanks ilovelyn for the response.

@howszat, to renew the hotlink365, just register to it again when your previous one expired already. of course you need RM33 for the registration, and an at least RM30 topup afterwards.
