I upgraded to iPhone since March! Woot! Back then I already anticipated the release of the 3G version but what the heck i wanted an iPhone. One of my friends might be coming back to Malaysia soon from the States so might be getting the USD 599 iPhone from there. Hopefully I'll have enough case by then and DevTeam releases the unlock tool already. Otherwise might be tumpang-ing you for an NZ iPhone....if you're flight schedule is approved. Anyway, hey! Stop with that scrabble screenshot =.=" Eh, tried multiplayer with that thing ah? I'm also waiting for Monopoly! Ok lah maybe I shouldn't be talking this, but do u guys think there is a possibility that these AppStore apps could be shared once 2.0 is jailbroken? But ey, talking bout sharing. Can a legally bought App be shared among several iPhones? What if a household has got like say 5 iPhones? Apple can't make them pay 5x for the same app eh? I feel that could be an unfair practice. After all, the s/ware we've been buying (legit!) allow multiple installation. |

If i'll be gettin mine, most likely it would be from the US since my friend is heading there this 6th August. Looks like i'll need to unlock it myself as I'm pretty sure (or it is already confirmed) the US iPhone is still locked exclusively to US telcos only even with the "out-of-contract" version.

QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Aug 1 2008, 12:36 PM) @zc_squash, Ah so it just jailbreaks. Hmm, too bad then I'll be getting the 3G iPhone from the US. Probably will come in a fortnight time. Hopefully the unlock tool will be released by then.It doesn't - it jailbreaks it so U be able to use the Apps (some, if not ALL) but not the phone feature. |

QUOTE(rjmm2 @ Aug 1 2008, 11:10 PM) Need some information. Anyone knew whether the 3G Iphone set from Holland could be unlocked? I have friend going there soon. Unless it is already unlocked by its nature (eg: NZ iPhone) i don't think there is an unlock tool yet. I'll be getting mine from the US - also locked to AT&T. |

QUOTE(harmeet15 @ Aug 2 2008, 02:25 AM) QUOTE(rjmm2 @ Aug 2 2008, 07:18 AM) @zc_squash I think the current tool only jailbreaks the phone only and doesn't unlock yet. I'm crossing my fingers that an unlocking tool to be available soon. Yeah, i think i'll be keeping it for a while until the unlocking tools are available. Eventually, it should be available. It better do So.. you what you'll do with your US Iphone? Do inform us if the unlocking tools is available. Of course I'd rather get an NZ or Italian iPhone but, who's going there? QUOTE(friends @ Aug 2 2008, 07:57 PM) Yeah someone posted that at the other thread. I'd still prefer software unlock tool. But that is if I'm able to get the iPhone 3G. |

QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Aug 3 2008, 09:41 PM) @zc_squash, Ah yes, i'm aware of that too. But i have got no contacts elsewhere. Plus these iPhones are at least a few hundreds MYR more expensive. Guess that I'm taking a risk of ending up with an expensive iPod touch If U've gone through the multiple discussion threads on the iPhone 3G U'll know where the unlocked sets are being sold around the world; in fact, U can get it off the Apple website In Asia, unlocked/authorised unlocked sets can be found in NZ, AU & HK. |
