QUOTE(stringfellow @ Jul 17 2008, 11:59 AM) Not on firmware 2.0. The backup is there backing up your apps so that next restore after a firmware update, you dont have to reinstall it again. This is not jailbroken 1.1.4. Yaloh...can't wait for you to start the tumpang thread....neck sooooo loooong now Thank you boss. Can can, no problem. Keep a lookout on the Tumpang Thread in this part of the forum. I already owned iPod Touch with 2.0, planning to get Scrabble too later. Then when i got my iPhone next time, can share with it yeah! |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Jul 18 2008, 02:42 PM) Video clip of GPS while I was on the bus is being uploaded onto Youtube. I had to juggle between keeping focus on the iPhone with Xacti camcorder, all the while I was at the back of the bus, fearing with every bumps and corners of the bus, that my iPhone will come flying out of my lap. iPhone posion already kena since Apple announced iPhone 1st gen, now the racun is even more poisonous than ever haha. So, in advance, please forgive the quality of the recording. I did it the best I can. String, once u open the tumpang thread, do drop the link in this thread as well so that we can quickly make booking. U one person go NZ can't take many iPhones back, maybe can ask your colleagues who are going with you for help heheeee ;-p |

QUOTE(cocklea @ Jul 29 2008, 06:19 PM) im still pretty much in the dark at the mo' coz i latest batch of iphones are not here yet! we should've gotten it yesterday, but dunno what happen. Cocklea, just in case you're interested, previous shipment of stocks came from Hong Kong (i checked the packaging myself) and prolly that is the reason why our iphones are not locked. New shipment, not sure, but I'll update as the story develops. and when psyeo told me iPhone technical support told him he got to go into a Vodafone store to unlock his iPhone, i was like "WTF???" i have a feeling all this locking/unlocking thing is pure bullshit, trying to scare off people from buying it outright but im going to investigate it nonetheless. Thank you so much for helping us |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Jul 29 2008, 09:04 PM) I am waiting with baited breath on Cocklea's and Psyeo's findings tomorrow. Cocklea is going to test his Maxis sim on the new stocks, while Psyeo will try and go to the Vodafone store to ask them to "unlock" his already unlocked iPhone 3G. See how the procedure is. Have a safe journey and keep us updated yea...I am in debt to these fine folks, without them I am lost. Thank you Cocklea/Psyeo! |

QUOTE(psyeo @ Jul 30 2008, 01:15 PM) not going to comment much, but the iPhone 3G sold till today is still unlocked. Thansk PSYEO for the good news. Let's hope to get more good news from COCKLEA Went down and ask to "unlock" my iphone today...3 of the Vodafone store sales assistance, says that they don't provide unlock service, as the iPhone sold from vodafone is not locked all the while. anyway, we'll know for sure when Cocklea receive the new stock p.s. keep it to ourself, k? don't spread the news out |

QUOTE(zc_squash @ Jul 31 2008, 10:36 PM) If i'll be gettin mine, most likely it would be from the US since my friend is heading there this 6th August. Looks like i'll need to unlock it myself as I'm pretty sure (or it is already confirmed) the US iPhone is still locked exclusively to US telcos only even with the "out-of-contract" version. As of now, the unlock available? |

OUTRIGHT SALES LIMITED TO 3 PER PERSON, CASH OR EFTPOS ONLY! CONSULTANTS PLEASE BE AWARE! VODAFONE IS TRACKING OUR SALES. feck! not sure im going to spin this to my manager, but it looks like im majorly fcuked right now coz i need 8 for you guys!! more update later. Cocklea, we know u will have your "way" of getting the 8 units Most importantly, please test whether is it still remains UNLOCK or have to walk-in to Voda for unlock? Added on August 1, 2008, 2:21 pm QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Aug 1 2008, 12:58 PM) @cocklea, Hey Tinkerbel, *gulp* U'll find a way I'm sure. So, are the new batches fully unlocked? PS: If I'd paid cash for the phone but unable to collect the phone in person, is it possible for me to send a representative to make the collection? If so, it shouldn't matter how many phones this person is going to collect right?! Finally u made up your mind to get it! This post has been edited by neekun: Aug 1 2008, 02:21 PM |

It seems that some Vodafone users wth unlock sets are having some issues after upgrading to 2.01.
Refer to: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?t...611315&tstart=0 http://www.iphoneuserguide.com/apple/2008/...-from-vodafone/ Anyone here updated to 2.01 and mind to share your experience? Thank you. |
