Will kena Tax or not when though Kastam...

As long as it's an international courier shipment, it'll have to be inspected by the Customs, And according to String, they tend to pay more attention to parcels which country of origin is identified as usually "heavily taxable items". I believe it's a 95% chance that the package will be screened and taxed. Only way to bypass it is having a person bringing it along as a passenger wink.gif Tough luck, huh?

Slots going fast like fried bananas. tongue.gif If there are openings, I'll inform you, but if anyone cancels, they'll have to decide fast. I'm not a big fan on last minute changes.

Robbing banks? Ocean's Eleven style, or Joker-style?tongue.gif

It is still trial, once you sing up, they'll give you 60 days trial period. They do ask for your credit card detail when you sign up via www.me.com. That is, once the trial expires, it will automatically ask you if you want to subscribe without the need of entering your credit card details again.

Signing up MobileMe online via Me.com will direct your registration and subscription through Apple Singapore, the price quoted are in SGD148. I still have 5 more weeks on it, so once the trial expires, then I'll have to pay.

The experience on MobileMe? There are pros and cons. MobileMe have been pretty unstable lately, since Apple is moving the whole infratructure from .Mac .There are time, it just goes into Maintainance, and other time, I cannot properly access the service. Once you signed up, run Software Update on your Mac. It will replace your .Mac with MobileMe, and you are required to sign in with your username and password you have registered via Me.com .

What services does MobileMe offers? Syncing of Mail, Photos, iCal, contacts and iDisk. The first four is synced back and forth to all your Macs, iPod Touches, and iPhones, while the last is like an online storage. I'm currently transferring all my vacation photos to MobileMe, and have set my contacts and appointments on iCal to sync to each other, depending on which connection I have. If I'm out and about in KL, using 3G instantly updates any changes I make on Contacts and Calendar into their MobileMe counterparts. I have not set up my MobileMe @me.com Mail address as my primary mailbox, after reading up on the news that .Mac-to-MobileMe integration is not seamless yet, resulting in missed emails or totally empty mailboxes in MobileMe. Once they sort this problem out, then I'll migrate myself fully into MobileMe.

I still have not used iDisk for anything at the moment, because to me, the space is kinda limiting, not enough to store much. Porn perhaps, but I'm not gonna degrade the usefulness of MobileMe with something tacky like that.

If you dont have MobileMe, the option to sync via "Push" from MobileMe is not available. You will not be able to sync via 3G, only via cables through iTunes.

I dont know what else I can add in terms of pics or video, if there is anything specific you need to know just ask.

Okay, here's how you undo the lock on the iPhone 3G.

If you watched that Youtube clip I uploaded, it came without any sim card, and to unlock it, you need to use iTunes. Plug it into iTunes and the register screen greets you. Agree to the T&C, and continue with the registration. As long as you do not agre to the T&C and complete the registration, your iPhone will not appear on iTunes and you cannot transfer your media onto it. In my case, I already have registered an account with iTunes US, and I use my Apple ID to continue from there. Once everything is done, your iPhone appears on the right tab on iTunes, and you can now either rename it or set as default "Phone". You can also choose to restore from previous sync you have with other iPhones you have synced with the Mac you're using, in this case, both my previous 8GB and my 16GB. I chose to not to restore and start fresh. The rest is the same how you do it now, automatically sync your media or customise it.

Other observations, 3G coverage in my area, when good, is really good, when it is not, it drops out of coverage and totally konked out. This was observed during my mad dash outside my house testing out the GPS. When coverage drops, the "3G" symbol disappears and replaced by a blue box with a dot in a middle. But once you're back on coverage, it refreshes and the symbol came back on, with settings remembered, you dont have to re-enter it.

3G settings for both Celcom and Maxis are as follows:-

Celcom = 3gcelcom, leave login and password blank
Maxis = unet, username "maxis", password 0123

Both blazingly fast, it's been a while since I used 3G, when it is good, the speed is fast, but I hate it when the crappy days comes, you know, when they say it's "under maintainance" laugh.gif

Everything else, is like how I posted before. GPS is heavenly, I'll do the taping of the GPS in action tomorrow when I'm in the bus to KLCC for my private TT and "The Dark Knight". Will tape it using the 2G iPhone with iPhone Video Recorder. Gonna start transferring songs, movies and apps now, now I can safely purchase Super Monkey Ball and Scrabble.

Anything else you guys want me to try out , or any other questions, dont hesitate to ask. I dont think I can sleep tonight. laugh.gif

Ahahah, the remnants of my toy-collecting days, I still do collect and pose them, but not as crazy as I used to. tongue.gif
I'm gonna use the USB cable connected to another USB head that I have to charge, the USB head left over from my old Sony Ericsson phone owning days. Plus, still have the US 2-pin plug I always use for charging inflight.

I do not know, as I have not tried this.

I unlocked mine using US iTunes, Psyeo uses his NZ iTunes, but the phones are from NZ. If you look at this logically, iTunes is just an instrument for unlocking, and it does not matter which region of iTunes is used during the activating.

To be safe, I suggest using iTunes regions that already have an iPhone launch, otherwise a red flag may trigger in Apple HQ about you activating it using a non-launch country and may result in complications later.

Use Apple's Cupertino address. If you have any Apple product, Apple's HQ address is somewhere printed on the box or inside those paper manuals.
