to each his own?
best you try out yourself.
who knows after you purchase the SX and when you finally hold a squier, you like the neck of the latter better? tongue.gif

if ur comparing the squier california series with SX...
the squier has a narrower and thinner neck.

the squier also has greater QC issues...once i tried 4 different california series...only 1 was good.
the SX is better.

but when u wanna upgrade guitars later...its harder to re-sell SX cos squier carries a 'better' name...

u pay for wat ur getting.

california - basswood body.
affinity - alder.
standard - agathis.

i think its still that, too lazy to check.
also the hardware gets better, which should be obvious since ur paying more.

I used to have teles for both brands, ends up I kept the SX. To me it plays better, sounds better, definitely a keeper. smile.gif
