QUOTE(miromiro @ Jul 16 2008, 12:28 PM) hehe ur welcomeQUOTE(^Hobbes^ @ Jul 16 2008, 12:28 PM) You already answer your own question er, i dnt agree on the gui part now, if last few yrs i will agree...n interlink between software thru dbus now, gtk n qt based interface improved a lot...current linux distribution truely is more plug n play than windows...windows still need to install drivers while linux other than graphic driver for enable 3d, the rest r auto detect now...newer kernel have lots of driver module dy...n their gui is using 3d engine, more spectecular than vista's haha go youtube check it out Windows aims to be one stop centre solution, they crammed all the best user interface, databases of drivers, shared components, complex linking of systems to be a plug and play OS On the other hand open source oni targets usability, most of the time they have crap UI, crap interlink between softwares and not truly plug and play, most of the time u need to configure or have sound knowledge on the OS QUOTE(miromiro @ Jul 16 2008, 12:28 PM) agree |

QUOTE(^Hobbes^ @ Jul 16 2008, 12:39 PM) wont la haha dude, i bet u really hvnt tried current linux once a while its healthy Yes its nice now but still arent as user friendly as a windows Even Mac OS X looses to windows in term of user friendly UI But u dont find that u can use ur windows office to make pdf or link it into a pdf can u I know its not the OS, but related In windows u update from one source ie windows update where as with open source, you can update from a few sources with different revision all together sure in an enthusiast point of view its nice and convenient, but for non enthusiast its a nightmare I still remember updating my linux box driver, its a nightmare to find which is the best, install and uninstall fest |

QUOTE(^Hobbes^ @ Jul 16 2008, 12:46 PM) Yep i've left the linux scene for a few years hahaha talking about redhat, their newest fedora is a failure, rush work...come out wan2 intro ext4 but still unstable...kde4 also unstable...sigh kernel 2.6.25 is the best tho haha just the rest like rush work...I still cant find something to replace autocad, altium protel, and cad/cam NT Sure if its programming it could be done at the command prompt without having to install a third party compiler I was part of the comunity Certified by redhat autocad alternative not so good yet...sigh tats the bad thing, the rest r fine...just adobe still reluctant to support 64bit! screw them! hahahaha n reluctant to port their software to linux, even older version also they dnt wan2 make it happen(only saw they did photoshop, but js for once) |
