just confirmed with amex centre that the amex cc card will be combined limit with my current mbb visa. doh.gif then they will charge me another RM 800 FOR THE ANNUAL FEE. Tinkerbel, Terapox , your statement already charged annual fee? They said no waiver given to this card.

tinkerbel, going to complaint even the limit is high, coz i think it should be a standalone. I feel weird about it. Amex plat card is exclusive , can't call in to waive isn't it?

problem is they are not very sure about the real thing. I need to check again with them to double confirm but the amex CS told it it will be combined CL with my MBB. Different story when at the first place, and it doesn't make sense lah.if i go and cancel the card now without using or activating it, would they charge me 800?

For rich ppl like u guys... RM800 is a peanut la.. "sup sup sui" :-)

it's not the matter of rich or not laa.. RM 800 is quite alot if for paying annual fee of CC .. Just like paying a teh o ais limau for RM 50 ..
But if fully utilize the card benefit and also the prestige card , perhaps like terapox say it is worth it... but they combined my CL with my current MBB visa and totally unacceptable lor... mad.gif vmad.gif doh.gif

From what I heard from the account clerk, not really. Lastime (many years ago) when VISA n MASTERCARD still not so popular yet, maybe use frequently as travels a lot to see suppliers. But now each month also pay around 4k nia and mostly for petrol (inclusive of supplimentary cards for the rest of directors). Nowadays VISA and MASTERCARD is the way to go.

1)Does this apply to every installment plan, that the merchant gonna charge FULL AMOUNT .. and installment is actually between you and bank ??

2) So for installment if we pay fully, is there any bad record in CCRIS ?

3) Let say i buy anything in retail or supermarket like carrefour, any interest of i swip and pay full upon receive statement ?

If let say even we buy small item or grocery, but we get charge small amount interest even we pay full .. thats ridiculous lolz

Added on September 2, 2008, 10:32 pmn fyi, im using cimb mastercard ... not DA
*
1) Every transaction will be charged full amount , regardless you're using Merchant EPP or by call EPP. The instalment between you and bank is the one when you purchase something and you request later from the bank that you want instalment for how many months ( normally they will have 3% to 5% handling fee ). Merchant EPP will be the one you do it on the spot with the store , normally the slip you sign will written clearly how many months you want to do instalment, and 0% .

2) you wont get any record in CCRIS.

3) No , you wont be charged any interest. Interest charged only if you late payment or you have outstanding balance brought forward.

I mean you dont have their charge card rite?

If Im free, I will scan the stupid offer letter. I cant really see any term and condition stating that its free only because you are paying for the charge card. My boss just took the card and threw everything else away. Sigh... he didnt even bother to read...
*
Yeah , a few post before Terapox did mention about owning a Amex gold charge card for 8 years if i am not wrong. by the way does the two card link with each other ? In my case are not as i am holding Amex Charge Gold Card also. They are insisting to chargin me RM 800 too..

anyone can advise how can do a card to card application for the standard chartered character card with my existing hsbc class card???
*
Does your existing hsbc classic card over 1 year ? If yes then just go over the standard chartered branch to apply, bring your ic and hsbc card, the CS will help you to do the rest. Remember to mention for the character card you need. I prefer taz mania. tongue.gif

vin ann , you can check the upper right of gsc main page there should have a history. I have this case before as the page load fail. But when i check with the bank it just hold only for less than half hour, after their system refresh, will auto reverse the payment. This is my case thought.
Amex gold charge card is free, but you need to call in for waiver.

I don't find problem using local bank cc oversea , all the credit card are accepted worldwide, i used MBB in HK without problem, using Cimb in South Korea without hassle. But make sure the place does accept visa master .

jcb are widely accepted at japan but not much merchant in malaysia accept jcb card. Usually i will standby USD in case cash not enough when oversea. Visa and Master are sufficient enough to cover your usage la.

Norns,
credit card security is like a pc connected to internet. No 100% guaranteed safe even you have the best antivirus. Monitor your transaction and statement closely and report immediately once you found some unknown transaction. There's risk when you expose your card detail to 3rd party like cc agent or anyone else, just try your best to keep your cc detail safe, heard some of the stories about the cc fraud that cashier took picture of cc using their phone when customer make payment. Quite scary.

Nowadays many cc terminal will automatically do EPP instalment without the need to fill in the form but some of the merchant still have this procedure. Check with the merchant about this.

i don't think your friend can collect the card for you even he has the authorization letter from you. If by pos laju to your office/home, any person can receive the mail for you, but if the card have been send back to pos laju center, only you can retrieve it.
I've bad experience to card relocation as their service are very bad, cimb , mbb , citi and uob , takes alot of time and often send to wrong location.

hye,

My instruction to card relocation is not towards pos laju, it's when the card has been send back to card distribution center and i double confirm with bank CS, i asked them to send to Branch A , they usually will send to branch B or C or D. Makes me have to call couple of time before they actually get the card to the right place.

Amex got 3 type :

1. Amex Charge Card
2. Amex Platinum Credit Card
3. Amex Credit Card with Maybank Logo.

The lowest requirement i think is Amex Classic With Maybank logo. Same as normal classic credit card requirement (18k).
The Amex Charge Card ( Green Card ) requirement is 24k per annum.
Approval rate is vary and depend on bank la. Same as CC application also like most forummers mention before etc good paymaster , clean record, and if you pay 21k for your income tax, most probably your approval rate is 80% above. Haha.

tinkerbel,
Seems like your experience with Citibank turn worse nowadays huh? I just received a card from citibank and it stated there if wanna waive the annual fee, use the card within 45 days from the day receiving the card. Is it ?
