Why don't apply a card from any Singaporean bank?
Using locally issued card will impose charges on the foreign exchange right?

I called Maybank CS yesterday to inquire for my MBB Ikhwan AMEX application. Apparently, my application couldn't proceed since I didn't sign the declaration section. There're two declaration sections in the form and I signed only on the Akad declaration. Faxed them a signed form and hope they could process fast enough. Not sure why they didn't call me about this.

I also have the same thought as you since I have existing cards with them. There're two sections that you need to ink according to the CS or processing department. 1. Declaration 2. Akad Declaration |

If I'm not mistaken, the transactions made with the islamic amex card must be halal (legal from Shahriah point of view).

The Al-Ikhwan card will it have any Treat Points? Can it be merged with the current TP from Maybank as well? What happens if I accidentally swiped at the non-halal place? Will it get barred or rejected?

AMEX: RM 1 = 2 TP and Visa/Mastercard: RM 1 = RM 1 TP.All TP for MBB products (saving/current, ATM, multple credit cards) are structured independently and they're not merged together. |

QUOTE(mustang @ Nov 2 2008, 05:22 PM) I think it'd be extremely hard. I really don't think they will request a receipt from the hypermarket we swiped the Ikhwan credit card just to see if we have purchased anything non-halal using the Ikhwan credit card. |

Random check perhaps. If they found you done something non-halal, your car will be barred immediately. |
