JUSCO, GIANT and CARREFOUR all do accept AMEX. Not sure about TESCO as i have never shopped at TESCO. AMEX acceptance generally is good at all big corporations.

AMEX is also accepted at :
- KINOKUNIYA Bookstore
- MPH Bookstore
- TIMES Bookstore
- PARKSON
- ISETAN
- METROJAYA
- SOGO
- GUARDIAN
- WATSON
- SPEEDY Video
AND
- KL Sentral ERL Ticket Counter
- Airport LIMO KLIA
- All Shops at KLIA
- 4-star & 5-star Hotels such as Vistana Hotel and Imperial Hotel
- All the Big hospital such as SJMC & SMC
- ASTRO Showroom
- TONG HING Supermarket Kota Kinabalu
- MILIMEWA Supermarket Kota Kinabalu

I use my AMEX whenever possible due to the RM1 = 2X Treatpoint system  tongue.gif

Thanks for sharing the list. The only problem with AMEX is giant merchant accepts.

Oh wow, MBB has increased the minimum income requirement.

Classic
RM30,000 per annum

Gold
RM36,000 per annum

Platinum
RM120,000 per annum

Kind of funny. Why even a need for classic card than?

To think around 5-6 years back, the income requirements for a Gold card was around RM60K per annum for just about all the banks in town.

I'm only on regular Gold card, not even platinum. I spend less than RM10k each month with a credit limit of maybe RM15k (can't recall) so I'm small peanuts to banks biggrin.gif Come to think of it, I don't have any Platinum cards. And it feels good biggrin.gif
*
lol, based on what you said, I don't think any bank wants me as their customer since i only spend around rm500 monthly out of my 6k credit limit biggrin.gif

I remembered somebody mentioned that he/she couldn't use MBB AMEX to pay for bills online in M2U. Who was that?

I asked this during my call with M2U CS. They said can and shouldn't be a big problem.

To my best knowledge ... the answer is can but not every bills can be paid using AMEX, VISA or MC via M2U. You still need either a current or savings account to maximise the range of bills that can be paid online via M2U.

Hi all, I've never apply for a credit card before. Recently got agents from approached me (not MBB) I decided to apply for a classic Master. From the latest Borang BE submitted stated I got Jumlah Pendapatan of RM30790.  Jumlah cukai Pendapatan=RM310.39  then after some rebates the tax I need to pay is none. So the agent said I'm not qualified for classic card. They said need tax payment receipt which I don't have.  I thought the minimum requirement is annual income of 18k? They said if I got a housing loan then maybe got chance.  I own a house which is fully paid up. So no loan they said cannot. I'm blur. Why someone in debt got better chance of getting just a classic card?  Can KWSP statement help in card application? Since I got around 100k in there.

Try CIMB Petronas Mastercard, it's easy to get approved.

So sad, Citibank reject me twice already, when they make verification at my home address, my mother answer the phone, but why they reject it?

The document provided is enough, pay slip, IC, KWSP, employment letter, true information, salary over RM 1500 per month... still get rejected?

Lose confident to them already

It's CIMB not CIMB Direct Access.

Not sure if it requires any activation by calling to the customer service.

I've been using MBB Online to pay bills. MBB Amex Credit Card cannot use at all for manual payment. You can try choosing manual bills to pay and the dropdown combobox won't have AMEX card option.

However, you can register for auto-debit with MBB Amex Charge Card for all bills (including TNB) by filling up a form.

MBB Amex Credit Card Auto-debit: Maxis thumbup.gif 2x TP

My experience so far on manual online payment
Amex: NONE
Petronas Visa: TM/Streamyx (2x TP), MPSJ, Insurance (auto-debit), Petronas (5x TP) donation (auto-debit)

Citibank CC Master: Syabas, DiGi

Cannot pay using CC for both MBB and Citibank Online:
1) TNB doh.gif

------------------------------
Previously I used MBB Amex Credit Card at Esso/Mobil (2x TP) + 1x Smiles point.
However, since MBB Petronas Visa is offering 5x TP until end-Dec 2008, I'm using it until further notice. smile.gif

This is totally different from what the CSE told me. I also described the manual online bill payment using the drop down menu.

e.g. For TM bill, these are some options available for MBB manual online payment:
1) Savings a/c
2) Current a/c
3) Visa CC

No Amex option.

If got Amex option, I will be using it, cause 2x TP compared to Visa/Master 1x TP. rolleyes.gif

Don't feel disheartened. SCB rejected me 3 times across a span of 3 years before finally accepting me as a cc customer + Citibank once rejected me before and at that time I had an account with them with a substancial amount of money with them. (Go figure) Yourself just trying once and give up .... dunno what to say.

Just to correct this info. You can pay your TNB via Citibank Online with Citibank's cc. If you only have current/savings account with Citibank then you can't pay any bills! It's totally opposite from all the online banking in Malaysia.

ah... sorry, my mistake. Just check and Citibank CC can pay TNB. Previously I was unable to pay using it, hence have to use M2u online savings/current account. sweat.gif

Added on October 16, 2008, 10:35 amSince I was at Citibank Online, I check my statement and...

CL increased from 15k to 22.5k blink.gif
Not yet include the Installment Loan Limit.

I'm just spending <RM100 every month on this Citibank CC. sweat.gif but paid in full and on time every month. I won't be using such high CL, but good to keep for emergency purpose.

For CIMB DA, you need activation. Once you get the cards, please call CS for activation.
