@Norns,
Still being reviewed?! Are U owing banks a lot of $ or have U been a bad paymaster previously?!

Would HSBC be willing to give you a rough indication on their 'review'?

@TeraPox,
Er.. which bank offered me a CC without needing to submit application form? *scratch head*

@hye & danlhct,
You're probably right on the CL. My sister's CL on her UOB Platinum is RM15k p/card. UOB sent her 2 cards though hence I took total combined CL *grins*

I wouldn't be surprised if Plat cardholders get RM10k CL on their card. I mean what else can surprise me after hearing Gold cardholders getting RM4k CL!

@andrekua,
Er.. Amex doesn't require any other verification for purchases made online. The 1st time I made a US$19 purchase the bank did call to check if I made that purchase. However, I haven't heard from the bank for a purchase I made through PayPal yesterday morning. That was for ~US$50.

@kayage,
You're absolutely right about us taking responsibility to our own Finances but there are just too many people out there who doesn't and can't control their 'habits'. Too bad lots of people don't bother listening and will only start regretting after huge amounts of debts been piled up *gulp*

I hope there's something we can do to educate people out there on the consequences of spending tomorrow's morning today but alas, this isn't fantasy-land.

@Scopio,
It is not necessary for U to apply for a CC with banks U haf accounts with.

@jeff_ckf,
CC is as convenient as ATM ! *grins* but for the sake of the young generation, I hope they don't think the way I do ! *grins*

@TeraPox,
I'm surprised U got the Amex Plat CC even though U have to pay the RM800 annual fee p/year. Doesn't seem like something u'll do tongue.gif

@Norns,
Any particular reason U've been 'blacklisted' / rejected by HSBC?

@TeraPox,
I started off on LYN @ AppleBytes. Hope ur phone stops being cranky *grins* I would hate for mine to be! biggrin.gif

@clarance777,
You aren't the first to comment about CIMB's service being lousy. I am a DA CC user and I find the CS call centre lousy. My office uses CIMB and I hear my Accounts/Finance department alwiz complaining about the bank not picking up her calls.

@Reventon,
DA CC calls 03.6204 7878 - whether or not it's routed through to the same call centre I ain't too sure but the last 2 times I made a call I got cheesed off with the rude fella on the line! 1st one raised his voice at me and the 2nd one was about to tell me off when I interrupted him.

@TeraPox,
Let me know what time ur meeting up with SF - I might just be able to make it depending on time; have to be home by evening to prepare for a family bbQ get together.

@dinozilla,
I've never been to Taiwan so ain't too sure but Visa & MasterCard's quite well accepted around the world - Visa used to be more acceptable worldwide but I think MasterCard's caught up/catching up.

Since U oredi haf a Visa, I suggest U opt for a MasterCard biggrin.gif

Yes as long as U make payment promptly you won't be 'blacklisted' smile.gif I believe there are quite a number of us here who make payment in full each month.

@bee993,
Yes just call CS and tell them U didn't get ur bill hence U didn't make payment. They usually will waive the late finance charges + interest rates billed to U.

@jep,
The conversion takes place at point of purchase. The exchange rate is based on 'International Forex Rates' then. If the item was purchased today @ 10AM it will be converted based on today's 10AM rates.
