@ruztynail,
You don't need to disclose the PIN to anyone - U just need to key in ur Telephone Pin when U call them up - this is to verify that it is indeed U on the other line biggrin.gif

@keith_hjinhoh,
Y would one need to pay annual fee on a debit card? If i'm paying u the $ up front, I see no reason in having to pay an annual 'service' fee amount.

Perhaps you've get used to your credit card? Debit Card need to pay to use unfortunately. PBB Charge RM12p.a. , Some other ridiculous banks charge up to RM24 p.a.

Because if one have bad credit or do not have stable income or do not have any income, but need to have the convenience of being cashless, then debit card is the only way.

@soitsuagain,
Er... Citibank Online works also with Safari *grins*  If I ain't mistaken the last time I tried it on Firefox it worked too! smile.gif

@ICDeadPeople,
If u want the upgrade take it - if I ain't mistaken the upgrade should come with 3 years maintenance of current fee [that would be based on ur existing Gold card] but most of us would call up the CS and ask for a waiver.

If the waiver doesn't come through then just cancel the card lor smile.gif  I'm pretty fed up with Citibank [damn, I keep talking about it] but I haven't had time to shift my spending to another CC *siGh*  Everytime the merchant doesn't accept my Amex, I go back to Citibank - looks like I need to clear all my points once and for all then only i'll start using HSBC or something smile.gif

Btw for those using MBB CCs - is it possible to use ur CC via M2U to pay for utility bills? Or must those bills be paid only via an existing Savings Account? [oK.. I know I could google for that information but since i've been quite helpful around here and work's been crazy, I figured it's time someone spoon fed me! *grins*)
*
Not every payee is allowed to settle payment using CC in M2u. For example: Telekom bills - yes but TNB - no

To pay, go to Online Bill Payment section, pull down the drop menu to select which account to use for bill payment; either credit card, saving or current account.

@ruztynail,
I don't know if HSBC asks for a t-pin when we call - like U, i usually give them my NRIC together with my CC number and they'll make the verification smile.gif Don't call them as much [read: no problems so no need to call so often lor! hAHahAHahAHha]

If the bank requires a pin before U can do stuff with them, u could always request for them to send it out to U - when U get it, just activate it and change the pin smile.gif It is not necessary for U to do it personally at the bank.

@keith_hjinhoh,
AhHh oKies... me bad.. sorrEe.. but RM12 is pretty negligible, at least in my opinion *grins*

@pherary,
Are U on a MBB CC? If so, the bank will start charging U interest - and it's pretty hefty so clear the debt as soon as U can. To pay back RM300 p/month on a RM5.2k CC 'loan' is really going to come up to quite a bit. You should stop using ur CC now so U won't get into bigger debts.

@David83,
oKie dokIes... I guess I onli need to know if MBB CC takes payment through M2U for SYABAS, TNB, TM, Astro & Maxis. These are my usual utility bills p/month and M2U doesn't allow me an option to use my Amex to pay for the bills; hence I wanted to know if it was the same if I used an MBB CC - if I could make these payments through a MBB CC I'll probably go apply for one - that way I can stop giving any business to Citibank! tongue.gif

@David83,
As long as M2U can link our CCs to making these Utility payments it's all good. I cannot understand Y MBB won't let me use my Amex to pay these bills - maybe they scared I got no $ to pay them afterwards? *grins*

Well I think it depends on which debit card. PBB Visa Electron - RM24 p.a.
I'm currently using PBB TARC Debit Mastercard which is free for life.

@David83,
Credit Card.

@pherary,
Has this debt been LONG outstanding?! Perhaps work out a loan scheme with them - tell them U can't pay and that U need 12 months installment to pay - they can go ahead to charge u the *gulp* high interest rates.

I suggest you try to settle this quickly via some easy payment and stop using your credit card. If you fail to manage this problem now and choose to slowly pay ... this is the beginning of your bad run with every financial institution in Malaysia. Once a letter is out, a bad mark will be left in your financial history and this info is listed in every bank/financial system in Malaysia.

Don't think you can ever get a loan or a credit card ever again with any other bank in Malaysia. I suggest ... you deal with it and please don't borrow from loan sharks. rclxub.gif

Well, it does said for the first year, the annual fee will still be similar with the gold card (i cant even remember how much is that).
I think I will skip it. Im not really looking for an upgrade and my current credit limit is still manageable. Besides my main spending is on my
maybank cc.

Bro, think better you talk to the bank and convert the o/s to term loan or something i.e fixed payment over a period of time. Just tell the bank that you're paying gradually or no money coming in at all.

@ICDeadPeople,
Are people boycotting MBB?! Now that's not something I'm aware of but then again, I've been on the move so much I haven't been able to keep up with U guys here. On the contrary, I'm boycotting Citibank!

Take the Platinum card if the benefits are something that U feel U'll make use; access to airport lounge, etc. If U don't need it then forget it. Citibank will always send u card upgrades - now that ur oredi a Gold CC cardholder, when they do send u another upgrade, it will always be for the Platinum [it makes no sense to upgrade a Gold cardholder to a Classic Silver, right?!] wink.gif

Out of curiousity, did they give u a big margin of CL increase? [I think I'm still bitter over the fact that Citibank gave me an upgraded card but reduced my CL!]

Good question, my views are as follows :-

1) Their customer service sucks big time, worst ever encountered & that's even for private banking client.
2) They are too arogant and snobbish
3) Their products are not competitive
4) Their services are slow and unreliable
5) Their staff (majority) are like govt servants, so draw your own conclusions tongue.gif

I believe your case arise since each card has individual limit, thus when you were upgraded, they only added the incremental limit to the new card biggrin.gif etc.
