It lacks of consistency since both card divisions are handled seperately under different teams.

I believe you will be doing an Interbank Fund Transfer and select Credit Card Payment as the Payment Type. Use your card number as the account number.

Interbank Fund Transfer takes up to 3 working days to be cleared.

Actually for Inter Bank Giro/ Transfer (IBG) it only takes 1 working day.

If you send on Monday before 12:00pm then other Bank will either receive on the same day evening of the next day morning.

If you send the money after 12:00pm it will take one extra working day i.e. fund will only be in the day after.

Like i've said it again, and again, and again......
Using credit card is always never safe...

U go shopping pay the money, the cashier just need to remember the 3-digit number on the back of the card..
After u left the shop they can take the receipt it shows all ur card number and expiry date (the receipt u got back wont show full number but the shop receipt still show, the one u signed) and with the 3-digit number they can use it to online purchasing already..

Usually it will be atleast 2 days...unless both party of the bank have some agreement/close.

Not exactly 2 days... if you do the transaction from M2U before 12 noon, then the money will be in the other bank account the next day (eg: you transfer on 11am Monday and the money will be in Tuesday)... however if you do it after 12 noon, then the money will only be in the other bank account the day after next (eg: you transfer 1pm Monday, the money will be in Wednesday)... that's what had happened to me last time anyway...

That's why we should always look at how the cashier process the credit card payment.
Another thing, can we cancel the credit card number on the merchant's copy ?

Yeah ... I thought so too ?
Plus, anyone here had this problem of the merchant committing this kind of fraud in the last 6 or 12 months ? I'm not siding with the bank but I doubt so this is really a big problem. Let's not give a bad impression or scare off potential cc holders. In all my years of using cc, I never had this problem except the "Petrol Station" fraud several years back. The bigger problem (and perhaps the real problem) is whether cc holders can discipline themself to spend within means.

No offense to the person who bought up this subject ... but did you experience this problem yourself and how much was your exposure ? And did the bank resolve the fraud issue for you and how much resistance did you face?

I always had the practice of my card being swiped in my presence and I never had a problem where the bank did not want to cancel or resolve any fraud issue which I informed them.

owenwong84,

I'm afraid not, as very high chance DA will call up the employers to verify you are working there, earning salary and assume able to pay.

Why not get a supplementary card from parents for studies/emergency usage ?
Or write a cheque (parents?) to pay the fees ? Unless you are paying own fees ?
