Jupiter Online new platform really suck. It cannot be customized! Why change something when it is not broken. I've used Jupiter for nearly 2 years already. One more thing, why Jupiter charge me 0.42% min RM12 when I use my direct account? I had about 10 counters as collateral. Jupiter website stated only 0.3% min RM12. All the time I used my nominee account cash upfront which Jupiter charge me 0.1% or min RM10. Thinking of migrating to Malacca Securities. Any office in Penang?

Move your mouse over to Internet Explorer under the "Start" bar, right-click and select "Run as administrator", otherwise u cannot customise the columns appearing on your trading screen. It has always been like that i.e. u cannot customise if u open IE normally.

QUOTE(yenforyen @ Mar 24 2013, 07:28 PM)
Hey all, I may just have overlooked the danger of not having to fill up all the particulars for myself at Jupiter Securities the other day. Was there personally in front of the remisier to fill up the necessary forms, to open a trading acc with Jupiter, and also the forms needed to be submitted to Bursa.

However, I was running short of time, and only managed to fill up my name, email, address and address. Didn't remember to check for bank account details on the forms. Would this be to my disadvantage, i.e. am I subjecting myself to possible unscrupulous measures by the remisier/dealer? -__-
*
Bank account details are mainly for the purpose of crediting e-Dividends to you.

Don't worry, within a week Bursa will send to your mailing address an advice detailing your bank details (bank, account number, name). If after 2 weeks still not received, then only u start to worry smile.gif

Hi, currently I am using m2u stocks, which offer 0.1% brokerage fee. However, their apps thru iphone is terrible, I can't login for the whole 2nd half session today.

So, I am looking for u guys opinions, which bank gives the best rate + stable platform via mobile?

Thank you.

So would you say that the mobile app is equal in terms of functions compared to running it on the PC?
*
Of course no, the mobile app is only good for trading and checking live prices. U cannot see candlesticks, view stock announcements, do detailed stock search on it laugh.gif

For trading on-the-go and/or if your office blocks live quote, Jupiter mobile app gets the job done smile.gif

Actually asking for my dad haha. He says the three things you just said is not available for the mobile app is something he does thru the main bursa website. Candlesticks not so important for him. So I guess the mobile app is "perfect"  for his usage? smile.gif
*
What I do while at office is, I go Bursa website to see the prices (bear in mind Bursa is slow by about 15 minutes from live), if the traded prices are anywhere close to my liking, then I'd log on the mobile app to see the real-time prices and to trade. smile.gif

I am totally disappointed with this Alex guy. Already sign up with Malacca Securities, but bad service. This morning their entire server is down, cannot sell any stock. Contacted Alex for explanation, but no reply from him.

Better think twice for those who want to signup with Malacca Securities aka mplusonline.com.my

and u using mplusonline as your LYN id name laugh.gif

Is it possible to online transfer it personally back to my saving account?
*
Cannot. U call or e-mail their Customer Service ask them to withdraw, u cannot do it yourself.

I'm a new user. This morning, I have transferred rm 100 into my trust account via Maybank Online. When I logged into my trust account, I don't see the amount that I have transferred. Thank you for your prompt reply.
*
U need to inform customer service by phone or by e-mail. I usually got my account updated within minutes.

If u use different bank than Jupiter, then u have to wait for the funds to clear.

So which means today I transferred, I will have to wait till this coming monday for them to clear it? To check my balance is to click at the *My Account* >> then click *Account Summary* is it?
*
I usually transfer from Hong Leong to Hong Leong. I call/e-mail customer service, within minutes I get my account updated. They will only update your "trading limit", account balance will only be updated by next day.

If u use different bank i.e. Interbank GIRO e.g. Maybank to Hong Leong, then u need wait 1-2 working days I think.

Key point - Call/e-mail customer service

Thank you for your prompt reply. I have called the customer service line but they didn't pick up. So I emailed them instead. Will I be able to buy 1 lot of SONA shares when my trust account only have RM 100?
*
1 lot? rclxub.gif

RM0.59 x 100 = RM59

Of course can...but...your brokerage fee...RM10

U need to make 17% profit just to recover your brokerage fee doh.gif

Thank you for the analysis. They have updated my account but the amount is not 100 but 86.72. Why is it so? Sorry for these silly questions. I hope you won't mind.
*
86.72 is your TRADING LIMIT

U deposit RM100

If they let u buy RM100 worth of stocks, who's gonna pay the brokerage and other fees??? shakehead.gif

Difference between trading limit and account balance is to cover the fees.

Ur account balance will be zero now, by next day u will see your RM100

Do you know how Jupiter Securities derive the figure RM86.72 for the RM100 deposited ?
*
Dunno...

But roughly...

RM10 min brokerage
RM1 stamp duty for every RM1,000 traded
0.03% clearing

RM86.72 + RM10 + RM1 + (RM86.72 x 0.03%) = RM97.75

I dunno how to explain the "missing" RM2.25 laugh.gif

Just opened new CDS accounts in Maybank and CIMB iTrade, their dealer were laughing on claim by Jupiter ""We wish to inform that consequent to the requirement imposed by Bursa Malaysia, orders keyed-in by clients via the online trading system must be within the price limit range of 30 bids (tick) above or below from the last done price.
" - how come online trading only allows 30 bids ?!...Bursa Malaysia never issuing such regulation!
CIMB iTrade has threshold 8% and not 30 bids.

Example:

LastPrice of counter CIMB:                  RM 7.000
Limit Order by Jupiter:        RM 6.970 (min-buy) / RM 7.030 (max-sell)
Limit Order by iTrade:        RM 6.440 (min-buy) / RM 7.560 (max-sell)

You can see much different of range value when we need to buy/sell order in today volatile market movement.
[CMIIW]
*
Now I wanna laugh at u doh.gif

Bid/tick size depends on price of the stock

In the case of CIMB...tick/bid size is 1 sen, NOT 0.1 sen. shakehead.gif

You're partially right - it supposed to be like this: [that the purpose of sign CMIIW]
Example:

LastPrice of counter CIMB:                  RM 7.000
Limit Order by Jupiter:        RM 6.700 (min-buy) / RM 7.300 (max-sell)
Limit Order by iTrade:        RM 6.440 (min-buy) / RM 7.560 (max-sell)

But it still has much different of range value when we need to buy/sell order in today volatile market movement.
