Cymon, You left out one of the more important highlights for Maya 2009. NParticles! I am slowly (very slowly) learning Houdini, mostly for its particle work. (edit. I think its nParticles...with a small n) This post has been edited by mysticaldodo: Aug 26 2008, 01:00 PM

I'm only a beginner here Overall, the procedural way of doing things is very clean. I find it easier to manage and adjust all your past settings. I only touch the particles and some fluids, haven't played around with modeling. As a hobbyist, I do not think procedural modeling will serve me any benefit...yet. I am not a lighting and rendering person. Its something I haven't explored yet and I only touched it briefly in Maya

QUOTE(Diazepam @ Aug 29 2008, 12:46 PM) Mantra is comparable to Mental Ray, and has been used for some films as well. Learning Houdini in Malaysia is a bit sad, as it'll be tough to look for companies using Houdini here, so you'll have to default back to Maya or Max anyways. I think the situation is quite similar in other places (all over the world). Very few Houdini seats compared to other software packages. How long have you been using Houdini?

Whats NDA? Non disclosure agreement?
Do you do freelance? (for concept design and modelling)

Out of curiosity, under what situation or scenario would a model/asset/ artwork be released from NDA?
