Apple is advertising that the new iPhone 3G is twice as fast..
But what i want to know is twice as fast in what? Processing performance ? Connectivity using internet?
cause what i'm worried is our 1st Gen iPhone could not take the 2nd Gen iPhone apps due to the 2nd Gen iPhone being "twice as fast" compared to our 1st gen ones

oh so the processing speed for the 1st gen iphones is the same as the 2nd gen just that the 2nd gen has 3G which is faster speed compared to edge ?

lol.. thanks for the clarification on this matter.. i was worried my phone wouldn't be able to support 2.0 apps..
anyway i heard the new gen iphone the back casing is plastic instead of aluminium due to the aluminium interfering with signal connectivity? true/false ?

how does the GPS receiver work for the iPhone 3g? is it like those in our cars ? or does it requires 3G and it charges by the amount of data transferred?

seaedge please read earlier post where a member said that the GPS only PINPOINTS UR LOCATION for the 3G iPhone which is why i started bashing it. I'm asking for feedback about the 3G iPhone's GPS not GPS as a whole.
I know the normal GPS such as Garmin can show u directions to a location on the go. However we're talking bout the GPS on the 3G iPhone.

@seaedge I do thank you for the information on GPS ..
The reason why i attacked the iPhone GPS is because it CANNOT GIVE US OUR LOCATION IF WE ARE NOT STATIONARY (eg : travelling in the car).
From what you posted, it DOES SEEM THAT WAY or mayb i misunderstood what u posted.
Even if they upgrade the googlemap to show you directional roads to a specific location, you CANNOT use the iphone as a navigation tool to pinpoint your location while you are travelling in the car. Which is the reason why i bashed the iphone GPS.
Not to start an arguement but i do think that the way you write in the forums could be improved when addressing someone

@byte thanks for the clarification on that. I dunno the difference between A-GPS and normal GPS.
@seaedge read ur post as though it was me talking to you. There is a hint of mockery in your post. Anyway it may be me being sensitive. However it is up to you to decide your manner of speech.
Cheers

hahah thanks stringfellow
@seaedge nvm lets forget this incident. Sorry if i offended you. Just that the info u gave me i read n read they were saying "It's important to note, though, that the iPhone's was clearly intended to be a location-aware smartphone -- not a dedicated GPS device. There's a big difference."
this part got me confused. I thought it couldn't tell coordinates while being on the move.
