the idea of first person running is not in my head yet. the best so far in terms of free roaming run and go anywhere for me is still spiderman 2 (ps2). that one was the best. you can practically go anywhere and do anything (skills in the air). and it's 3rd person!



but i'm willing to give this game a try.. just to see if i can get into the idea or not.

A demo will be out on 30th for PSN and 31st October for 360. Guess we'll get it in 1st Nov? lol

all the songs are available for listen in youtube. from there you can follow links to download the songs.
as far as i know the PVD's version is also available on white label vinyls
i think i saw it selling in one of vinyl online store i went to recently.

Good game , another winner from EA/Dice after Dead Space(not by Dice) . Very innovative , though linear .

Surprisingly , I played it and never had any dizziness . I just went home in a tired mode and the game recovered me lol .

is it just me or is the download speed like, super slow? i've been waiting for the 15 minutes and the DL bar is at 2%...

and by the way, how come everytime a play a game while i'm downloading something, the little pop-up appears below saying that my download has stopped. it gets really really annoying...

If you play games that need to be online , the download will be stopped to avoid lag .

If the dl is stuck , try to restart the download , sometimes this happens . It's still downloading but the progress won't increase .

wow, what a cool game, and i agree with gnome, cool art direction.

the download speed was super slow .... took me almost 24 hours to download the 1GB demo....

BUT it was SSSOOO worth it!!! i jz finish playing the demo! and it was so much fun! my heart was racing while i was playing the game.. it felt so "rushed" yet so calming....

i was never a first person view gamer... nvr liked playing games from the eyes of the hero/heroin, always preferred 3rd person and top-down... but this game changed my mind!!!

it has a slight learning curve as there are no guns, fire or change weapon buttons, all of it is mainly jumping and some basic fighting and disarming!

i really really really loved the demo... cant wait to get the real game!!!

highly recommended to anyone who likes fast paced and fast reaction time & thinking games!!!

finally finished downloading it... my god, what an awesome game this is! the sense of speed is amazing. it really makes you want to finish a level perfectly. and there's plenty of different shortcuts to shave of a couple of seconds from your run, which definitely encourages several playthroughs.

but i'm really disappointed that they locked out the time trial mode in the demo... i want to try that too! maybe i'll just have to wait till release day lah.

after trying out the demo this.. Prince Of Persia in 1st person mode is shaping out to look real great. I guess if there was a peeve it would be that the game tells you which enemies you have to defeat to proceed instead of letting players make that decision

This game are the brilliance.

welll... i guess you can call it a FPP, First Person Platformer.
You could still call it an FPS since.. it's first person... and you shoot guns.

For some reason the download kept on resetting on my 360, so I ended up downloading it on the PS3. Wow its pretty awesome, and the limited Six Axis use for the balancing as well as disarm and roll landing was pretty sweet. I guess I'll still get the 360 version (cheaper oris than PS3 games) but hopefully it looks as good and smooth on the 360.

i might wanna get it...or just buy 2nd hand...too many games to buy too little time to play

OMG.

By far one of the most innovative games of 2008...

what do u do in this game other than running/jumping ?

you punch, disarm and climbing walls across sky scapers and tall buildings~ some of them u even go inside~ this game doesnt have any mutants or ninjas. its jz like real life parkour[I]. more info on parkour -->> here <<--

this game is mainly based around how fast is your reaction time and your timing cuz pressing that jump button 0.5 sec too late b4 jumping from one 30 story building, across the street to another tall building can cause you fall like a rock~ its a very fast paced game n keeps you on your toes at all times~

when is GH receiving this?

im not sure abt GH as i booked mine @ TSB as i buy alot of my PC games there as well~ also pre-ordered my NFS:Undercover there and they always are able to find for me very old games or any other game i request.... which i think is great!

TSB should b gettin their stock today if im not wrong~ jz waiting for their call

OK, already got mine. Phew... I knew without time rewind like Prince Of Persia this game would have many sounds of cracking bones... and I was right.

Controls are nice and tight but there are some weird things about the control such as why can't I look straight down while climbing a pole have to stop first, turn around 180 then only look down.

other than that.. feels good so far.

looks like ign gave mirrors a 7.3 .. they gave presentation 9 but lasting appeal only 5 .. . looks like it will be a short game after all .

Reviews everywhere said the game is short; around 6 hours of gameplay.
It's a part of trilogy anyway.

its in SS2, same row as Coffee Bean and 7-Eleven. 7-Eleven is at the beginning of the block, TSB is on the other end, near where the old karaoke building, i think its called Song Bird.

TSB is located on the 2nd floor. so keep an eye out~ on the ground floor is a fish food shop~

btw, TSB stands for "The Software Boutique".

yay! GH dah ada this game dah. just bought it, but only played the first level (and the tutorial). but already played that part from the demo so... no surprise there la. can't wait to play more, man!

a bit disappointing looking at the reviews. but i think this is a similar game to assassin's creed where the reviews and opinion about the game is highly contrasting. so for this game, some people will 'get' it, and some people won't. basically, if you like the demo you'll love the full game. if you don't like the demo, then chances are the full game won't change your mind.

of course i haven't even scratched the surface of this game yet, so my opinion is invalid till i do.

wow, i thought of just playing a level or two but i ended playing mirror's edge from 11pm till 4am. this game is a beast! it's a crack beast! so damn addicitve wei... the campaign is tight, eventhough the story so far is just okay, you still want to keep on playing to see the next level.

but the main draw of the game, to me, is the time trial. seriously, that took most of my me playing this game. you start with just the first stage, and you're not satisfied with the time you made, so you retry. one hour later and you find yourself replaying the same stage over and over again. and that's just ONE stage... damn wei, such an awesome time-waster.

Hmmm.. I have a theory that nearly every jump in Mirror's Edge needs you to learn from failing.. that's not good.

Gonna record my gameplay of a new level and see if i'm right.

but the thing is, i sometimes make the same jump mistake although i've passed that jump safely b4

i really need to practise my wallruns and disarms~

remember you can JUMP OFF a wallrun, don't just run. If you think you're not gonna make it, JUMP off the wall

Playing this game very slowly... Heard the game is pretty short... but extremely sweet.

Having played upto Chapter 3 finish (lol), I must say, there are intense moments and nerve racking "will I make this jump" moments.

A seriously unique game unlike any other. I keep forgetting its the people who brought us Battlefield !

The whole movement and controls are very well done. Great job DICE !

oh man.... i just finished the game. so sad, (not because of the story) cos i really wish it were longer. anyway the story sucks! the ending is so, bleh. like very flat. no climax at all. still wish it was 2-3 hours longer. but this game does remind me of portal. both games are so short, but so damn sweet,

now, on to the time trials and speedruns...

My mantra... "A chapter a day keeps Mirror's Edge from an early finish."

Of coz... I will start all over if I'm done. I keep hearing ppl finishing the game so fast... and being sad about it

no, the time trials/leaderboards are always open. however, not all courses will b open till u finish certain story chapters or time trial courses.

oh, you'll also need Live Gold to use this feature if u wanna compare with online ppl.

This game is incredible. My heart beats at 100mph playing it. So much tension and stress. And you feel incredible when you manage to pull of a perfect section of building jumping, wall running, disarming and shooting someone in the face. Yeah!

(followed by jumping to your doom and trying again).

i've been there soo many times! i feel ur pain!!! my worst exp was in the mall!!! run, run, disarm, jump, slide, wallrun, jump & pray that the guns dont kill u 1st and that u made that wallrun jump jz perfect enough to reach that scaffolding hanging for the ceiling of the 5 story mall....

...and of course falling to ur death and doin it all over again

a great game ill admit... one of the best i've played this year!!! i guess cuz its a new genre and a whole new gaming experience... i jz love it!

OK, just finished the game last night. Time for some closing comments.

Yes it was a very interesting gaming experience, truly something everyone should play through to feel it.

But there were numerous problems that stopped it from being great. First of all is the fact that it's actually very hard to judge distances in an FPS game because our eyes can't tell us the difference because of a flat picture, a lot of times I'll jump not because I knew that I could make it but rather because I knew that since there's a pole/ledge/bar in that direction, I must be able to make it.

And then there's the falling... and falling... and dying of gunshot wounds... I do believe this is one game that I see the loading screen Waaaayyy too often. Thank goodness installing the game to the hard disk helps loading ALOT!

One of my main reasons that I fall is that I don't know where my arms are, there are times wheere you jump and thinking you'll miss but your arms catch. and then there are times when they don't!

A bit frustrating, but again should be experienced by anyone who can stomach it.

Have not played this game in a good few days. Been playing CoD World at War + NFS Undercover + GTA IV...

I heard its part of a trilogy or something...
