The problem is more like it is Symbian S60 based and Samsung do not have its own S60-baded touch interface unlike Nokia who recently developed one for its own products. The FP2 variant on INNOV8 is too cramped to be used as a touch phone.
true.. but then if this were a touch screen phone, it will kill its own omnia. thats y i say, why wud samsung want that? if the price were the same and both omnia and innov8 were touch screen, which one will u buy? besides, since nokia has developed this S60 5th edition, samsung can have that same OS, only thing is... the price that they have to pay.

Just curious, this seems to be the best non touch screen phone on the market now (based on reviews I've read).
But why it is not popular in Malaysia? Or compare to Omnia / C905?
simple. one sentence. it is samsung.
more detailed explanation why its not popular. most of the consumer knows that samsung's phone doesnt have high second hand value, hence lesser demand compare to nokia. if nokia come out the same stuff like this and higher price (lets say 3k and above), i know it is still sellable. because, it is nokia. its the branding. oh yeah, the other reason why is... there is no AP set. u shud know how malaysian dont want to pay extra for reliability, eg. malaysian rather do double parking and obstruct the road when there is a car park centre that cost only RM2 for the 1st hour.
same thing goes to SE. why people buy SE later after launch rather than initial launch? Because SE depreciate way faster than nokia. but this time is mindset.
if were to compare with Omnia, basically both are has their own market. Innov8 is more towards to market where consumer wants a phone with high quality camera (among cameraphone) and other neccesary feature in high end phone (gps, wifi, large screen). while Omnia was tounted to take on iPhone with its TouchWiz interface. both since both its smartphone/pda categories, its only depending on what you really want; a touch screen phone or feature packed high end phone.
and compare with C905? different league. One is smartphone and the other is featured phone. no doubt both features more or less the same spec, but C905 is not flexible enough to do more than what Innov8 can do. just take the easiest topic, GPS. Innov8 supports Garmin(or other GPS software) installation while C905 stuck with googlemap (for the time being). so logically, C905 burns ur money more than Innov8 due to downloading maps from HSDPA. but then, if you are fine with normal phone for its simplicity yet full featured, C905 wud be a better bet.
