luke warm water and some mild soap like johnson's baby without all the moisturing stuff. then hang is hair down to dry. My mum thought me this ^__^

Don't soak your brushes as it will make the gum on the inside dilute and you will have hair coming out. Don't want that to happen to your new brushes ^^;; So before you hang pat dry with kitchen towel paper o.o-b

how many type of make up brushes do you currently own? you must clean all your make up brushes at least once a week to prevent bacterial from building up. there are two ways you can actually clean your make up brushes.

No 1 ) Simple yet fast dry method - Brush Cleanser

Brand : Elianto carries them and it retails at RM 12+-/ bottle (blue in color)
MAC cosmetics priced at RM 39/bottle (Pink in color)

so that depends on how much are you willing to spend and your budget.

Item you need using this method :

1. Small Glass or Paper cups
2. Clean towel or Paper towel aka Kitchen towel
3. Your make up Brushes of course biggrin.gif.
4. DO NOT use metal cups

The reason why I advice NOT to use metal cups it is because all these cleanser contain alcohol. Brushes needs to be properly sanitized to reduce its bacterial builds up hence the alcohol.

Directions : Just pour 10-20 ml depends on how many brushes you wish to clean (if you have more just increase the amount of cleanser and use bigger cups ) into a small glass cup dip your brushes let it soak for 20 sec then run your brushes go back and forth into either a paper towel or clean towel until it runs clean. DO NOT swill your brushes into circular motion ya.. then gently whipped off the access of the cleanser remain on your brushes, reshape them and then lie them flat on a piece of clean paper towel do not rise them....just let them dry naturally. This method allowing you to be able to use your brushes in 1 or 2 hrs time.

No 2. Serious Cleansing - Under warm running water.

Item you need :

1. Baby Shampoo at your preference or you could use facial cleanser this is completely up to you.

2. A piece of rough surface facial sponge you can get those at gurdian or watsons it comes with many color i.e. Yellow, blue etc etc

3. A clean towel.

Directions : wet your sponge squeeze off the access water, place just a tiny bit of shampoo onto the sponge then run your brushes back and forth until you see your brushes covered with suds then place your brush under warm running water....until it runs clean. repeat the same with all the brushes you wish to clean. towel dry them, reshape and lie them flat (all these are applicable to long or short handle brushes i.e. powder brush etc etc) for a buffer brush or KABUKI<< these usually comes with FLAT TOP or DOME shape just rest them up side down or lean them against the wall with a paper towel or clean towel underneath until they are dry....then flip the fluff.

Cleaning your lip brush or cream shadow or concealer brush.

Item you need :

1. Olive oil

2. Paper towel (for this specific brush I would advice you to use paper towel)

3. Again your brushes...biggrin.gif

Directions : pour just tiny bit or pea size of olive oil onto your paper towel (be sure to fold them in thicker form) run your lip brush back and forth under the olive oil until you get rid of all the lipstick traces on your brush then clean them with either the brush cleanser or baby shampoo.

hope all these info helps.... smile.gif

p/s : you could use the fast dry method once a week or give all your brushes a through clean twice a week. Options is always up to you

Have fun cleaning your brushes ya....and stay beautiful

MAC SA told me to use buy baby shampoo, its soft and gentle for the brushes smile.gif I find mac cleanser a little on the strong side for my babies smile.gif so far have been using only baby shampoo and all brushes are in shape! biggrin.gif

YA! my fren who used to work for MAC in kl as make up artist also told me that. she told me u don't have to buy those "brush cleanser" at cosmetic stores. just use normal soap or shampoo (few drops) to make leather on the "furs" and wash it under tap water. just make sure ur brush is downwards and u gentle squeeze it when u're washing it. then gently press out the excess water and let it dry like that.
