I am curious as to how Charge Card expenditure is reflected on CCRIS?
Charge card doesn’t have a preset spending limit so how do they determine the figure to put as financing limit on CCRIS report as there is no such thing as a clean cut credit limit?

I have a question:
I have credit cards and charge card currently with MBB. I seldom use my credit cards and mostly spend on my amex charge card which I pay in full every month without fail. Prefer using charge card as it does not have any pre set spending limit as I consistently charge 6 figure amounts every month.
When applying for credit / loan from other bank, how do they view this heavy charge card usage? Never missed a payment and always pay in full.
My concern is about the debt / utilisation ratio as charge card does not carry a credit limit per say, would it impact in any bad way? I wonder what figure appears on the CCRIS report as the credit limit for the charge card?
Please help to enlighten me. Thanks.

QUOTE(MUM @ Dec 16 2019, 12:54 PM) the CCRIS reports contains includes ... Includes information on outstanding amount, limits, payment behaviour, arrears and legal status if any. *This would exclude any accounts which have been fully settled. (but it does not shows the usage..... ) How to read CCRIS report https://www.imoney.my/articles/how-to-read-your-ccris-reportI know this. I would like to know how is the reporting when it comes to limit for charge card, namely amex charge card as the card does not carry a pre-set spending limit.

QUOTE(yklooi @ Dec 16 2019, 06:31 PM) had never used a charge card before,....just asking about this non preset spending limit clause, is it really no limits, like let says you can theoretically buy a BMW car with it? read this..... "Unlike credit cards, charge cards do not have a credit limit. Now, it is not to say that you can charge whatever you like to the card. There will still be a “Credit Line” or some call it “Shadow Credit Limit” just like credit card’s Credit Limit. You can always call Customer Service and ask them what is your Credit Line amount, so that you won’t be in a face losing situation when your transaction is declined because you have gone beyond the Credit Line assigned to you." https://genxgenygenz.com/2016/01/05/introdu...by-genx-cc-101/not sure about BMW but I've charged 9 suites class Singapore Airlines flight tickets to London for our family trip and there was no problem there. The shadow credit limit makes sense as there should be some element of control. I call it my magic card because it has never failed me so far!

QUOTE(yklooi @ Dec 16 2019, 08:33 PM) thks for telling will this shadow limits be used in the CCRIS report? Got the answer already as I went to print my CCRIS report. The limit reported to BNM for AMEX charge card with "no preset spending limit" is the exact amount of the outstanding balance that you carry. For example lets say you use your amex charge card for RM 300k that month, then the limit will appear as RM 300k. However, I was told this doesn't have impact on one's credit utilisation ratio as it is a charge card and balances are always settled in full unlike credit card. So in evaluating your credit utilisation ratio, the usage on AMEX charge card is omitted altogether.

QUOTE(yklooi @ Jan 26 2020, 03:05 PM) Thks for updating latest info.... So if the usage on Amex charge card is omitted altogether when evaluating one credit utilisation ratio.... Then Amex charge card outstanding balance will be omitted in the evaluation too.....?? This is what I gathered from someone I know who works in credit processing. He said it definitely does not bring a negative implication and affect the credit utilisation ratio because if it does, it will pull down the scoring greatly as it appears as if one has utilised 100% of the credit limit offered.

QUOTE(yklooi @ Jan 26 2020, 05:34 PM) thanks for the input again.... that means Charge card is not counted in the scoring.........in CCRIS, means another "loophole" for people that wanted to be more "in debted" How does that allow people to be in debt? Charge card balance must be paid in full without fail. The moment you miss a payment, they will impose a heavy interest and your charge privilege will be reviewed.

Its akin to using debit card as you must have the amount that you spend as you don't have the option to drag the payment over a period of time.

QUOTE(yklooi @ Jan 26 2020, 05:50 PM) charge card cannot drag payment for a long period? even imposed interest charges too cannot delay payment? Cannot. If don't settle in full its considered delinquent / default already.

Out of curiosity, to those who qualify to get full exemption from PTPTN repayment (first class graduates), does this mean the whole PTPTN record will disappear from that person’s CCRIS? As good as the loan never took place?
