hi there everybody, i need some help in answering some doubts before i even apply for a car loans. i hv a cc problem. debt 4k. after consulting the officers of the bank, i agree to pay by installments of 200 per month for 20 months. i already pay up to 6 months. in between the month i did skip but the month later i also pay for the previous month (eg = skipped april, then i pay in may 400 instead of 200). this july 2011, i am able to pay up the total sum of the balance so that i will no longer owe anything since the cc already canceled. i want to buy a car after this. but when i read all the post for this topic (oh yes i read all of em) i just want to be sure when is the best and safe time to apply for a car loan.
a) should i wait for few months or a year?
b)what is my chances?
c)i really learned my lesson well with the credit card. now i only use a debit mastercard. is a debit mc can be use to pay at the hotels (i travel a lot for my job) because i am tired bringing a lot of cash around (dangerous la especially for woman la) since it is like a prepaid, i can always bank in money for the card and use so i know my limits. but i dont know to what extent the usage of the card.
d)after i pay the balance of the cc, for years to come, let say after 10 years, will i able to secure a house loan?
i hope u guys can advise me in this matter since i am really want to change into a better life and secure better ratings in banking history.

6 months should be sufficient.
However, depending on your income level and car that you are buying.
If you afraid of your chances, you can always add in guarantor or lower your margin for car loan.
And then you start to pay prompt for your car loan then going forward you shouldn't have much issue on housing loan either.
I will advise you to at least have a credit card even though you don't plan to use it.
Also good for bank record that you have a credit card and has been paying promptly with low usage.

is this the new BNM rule for 2012? haiz.. yesterday submit for loan, hoping for miracle ..
Not a rule but that is what take count for the banks.
Suggest you to apply again after 12 months.
Also, no point keep trying if bank reject you.
1 bank reject you then all other will follow suit.
