while rafa collecting a grand slam, federer is on the slump! all of sudden, overtaking sampras' haul look hard for him. nadal seem to be in better position. if he keep on winning 2 or more slam a year, he'll be on top of slam's haul in 5 years lets just hope federer will bounce back. he is only going 27. the probem was nadal is 21 This post has been edited by yngwie: Jul 25 2008, 11:17 AM

federer need to get back to his old personal trainer. he seem to be suffeering from low confidence. c'mon federer. we want the see the 12x slam winner, not the federer of 2008 This post has been edited by yngwie: Jul 30 2008, 03:30 PM

federer wasn't playing like his ol'self......losing to nadal in 2 slam final definitely affected his concentration / self-confident....... any other reason?

watching how federer return roodick's shot sometimes ago really amusing! the guy is awesome. if he can get back to his ol' self.... he'll definitely surpass sampras's slam haul.

federer finally dethroned from top spot. nadal deserved it but i strongly believe it was partly helped by federer's poor run. i noticed something in his play..... remember the old federer with one hand backhand? the kind of shot he produced against top players(the one against roddick is my fav) is missing!
let see how he respond to it. hopefully he still as determine as ever. it'll be a big loss if he is doing 'a borg'......

QUOTE(Bepeon @ Aug 4 2008, 06:39 PM) According to the news, Olympics points won't be enough to make changes between No.1 and No.2. Federer needs to win the US Open to even have chance to become No.1 (provided that Nadal plays badly too but it doesn't seem so). If Federer wins Madrid Masters + Paris Masters + Masters Cup + US Open, he will be the no.1. Seems tough isn't it? it was easy back in 07. but the federer of 08 is far different from the federer of the past year. i miss his 'missing' awesome courage to go for almost impossible shot. Added on August 5, 2008, 2:19 pmQUOTE(faris21 @ Aug 5 2008, 01:30 PM) so when the Olympic draw hope Djoker in Fed`s side,it hard to Rafa reach the final if Djoker in his side murray, karlovic(his serve kinda suit the fast turf) and co could be the real joker, perhaps This post has been edited by yngwie: Aug 5 2008, 02:19 PM

QUOTE(faris21 @ Aug 6 2008, 09:13 PM) just found in itftennis.com that the draw will takes place on 7th August at Swissotel Hotel,Beijing come on drawman, put Karlovi,Murray and Djoker in Fed`s side faris21, you almost got your wish right. but only karlovic karlovic. davydenko and gulbis in federer's half while murray, hewitt, fat nalbandian and the djoker goes to nadal's half dangerous for the 'new federer' and quite tough for the improves nadal. happy birthday to federer.

maybe federer will do 'an agassi'..... winning a slam at the late age.... there is an endless possibility. congratz to nadal for being the new world no 1. he will not be able to break federer's record of consecutive weeks at the top but if he keep on winning the slam until he reach 27, he'll be the new king of slam.

QUOTE(-= Virgil =- @ Sep 9 2008, 12:15 PM) Federer, the invincible man he is not! but on his day, he is pretty unbeatable... just like nadal on clay. and i am already looking forward to him to capture the 3 slam next year, thus overtaking sampras

QUOTE(tookinen @ Sep 9 2008, 03:42 PM) still need the french open to complete his collection but the problem is there's a certain clay court specialist on the way. well maybe his coach higueras can help him overcome nadal on clay he was in the final 3 times! just that nadal is awesome on clay. let see if he can do it next year. with or without the roland garros title, he is already one of the best ever! the semifinal between federer and djoker is more interesting compare to the final itself. we really saw the ol' federer going for every shot. can't wait the new season to start.... federer slam, perhaps.
