It seems like this year whoever in the women or men tennis no.1 position, he/she will be in trouble!
See what happened to Henin and Federer. Both of them last year in good form, suddenly beginning of this year both of them suffering......... Why ar? 2008 is not a good year for tennis no.1 holder?

It seems like Djokovic is the better player at the hard court.
Now my bet is---Nadal will be the No. 1 in very soon, but he will be tapao by Djokovic at the rest of the season, as I mentioned whoever in the No.1 position, he/she will be suffering...Hehe
If that really happens, this year is the best tennis season I have ever watched.

QUOTE(GuyzNexDoor @ Aug 1 2008, 07:30 PM) What happen to FedeX now is almost the same case like what happenned to Tiger Woods few years back.. He loss the No. 1 spot to Vijay Singh, from the chanting of Tiger Mania to Tiger Slump but he managed to come back and even stronger.. The question is, can FedeX do the same??? Federer and Tiger Woods are friend, hopefully Tiger will share his "secret" to overcome the problem with Federer. Hehe.

Nowadays I don't feel so sad for federer's loss as before wimbledon. In fact, I think if I watched federer win, I will be very happy. But if he lost, I feel like it's normal only, no more sadness liao.
This year Federer performance on 3 different court: Hard court---Worst, most of his losses this year came from hard court. Clay court---Ok, reached finals many time. Grass---Good, but not the best as previous year.
Overall performance: Satisfaction (for a normal mid-class tennis player). Poor (considering he still No.1 at the moment).

QUOTE(diegoadriadona @ Aug 15 2008, 08:44 AM) i still believe that he will come back..stronger than ever..maybe not this season or next..but he will..somehow No, I don't think so.... You see, those players in his era like Hewitt, Safin, and Roddick, all of them already falls. Federer can maintain until now is already a great achievement. So, maybe he will continue to falls like them.... Don't dream Federer will come back. It seems like it's impossible. The more you dream, the more you will be dissapointed. Even I admire him, now I watch his tennis is just like enjoying only, win or loss also doesn't matter for me. I appreciate the chances to watch him, because in near future maybe he will seldom got chance to reach quarter or semi.

I wonder why nadal always pick his 'backside' with finger. My mother found this action very disgusting and use this as "reason" to change to other channel, causing me cannot watch the match...

QUOTE(ellimist @ Aug 17 2008, 08:03 PM) It's one of his lil routines he does,I'm sure he's very aware of it.He's just one of those who have a fixed set of routine (think Sharapova ) Don't think he's pickin ,just pulling/tucking at it,lol He better change this habit as soon as possible. Nowadays he is too great and always enter finals of any tournament. If he continue this BAD habit, my mom in future will use this as a "reason" to watch her favorite channel instead of letting me watching GRAND SLAMS final. lol About Federer, I think it's time for him to shift to concentrate mans double. Why? you see, nowadays Federer's unforced errors mostly came from "out", and the larger WIDTH of court in double games allow him more room to shoot the ball to the "out" region in the single match without fault in double games. lol

My guess is----Federer will be beaten by Stepanek in the third round. It already happened once this year.
If Federer can reach semi-final, then it's already a success.

Seriously, if Nadal win this US Open event, he will be the new King of the tennis. 3 Grand Slam and olympic champion in a single year.
And if he continue the WINNNIG streak, tennis masters series, next year 4 Grand Slam champion..... Another new player chasing Pete's 14 Grand Slam record.
Wow, unbelievable. I only started watch tennis 3 years back, and luckily withness 2 tennis great WITHIN 5 years.
However, I'm still supporting Federer. Maybe I'm just a plain die-hard fans.

Hahaha, just one Grand Slam win and everybody is talking about when he can get the 15th Grand Slam.
I am very happy roger won the US Open, but in reality I knew that it would be very difficult for him to win another Grand Slam because Nadal, Djokovic and Murray is always there. Maybe his next GS need to wait until next year's US Open, who knows?
