Nadal will win and take the No. 1 ranking. He's just too good at the moment.

Hi guys,
Lets say given the below 2 choices to Federer, which one do you think he would choose? 1) A French Open title 2) An Olympics gold medal |

Well from the way Nadal is playing, he stands a very good chance to win the US Open.
This guy can still shift his game up a couple of gears more from the level he's playing now. And from Federer's level of play against Alves, he stands no chance against Nadal. |

The only worry I have is those PAS guys will come out with all kinds of protest saying the players' attire is inappropriate etc etc.
It'll be serious embarrassment for the country if such thing happens. |

I'm rooting on Gilles to win.
Next year will be interesting with many young guns coming up namely Del Potro, Ernest Gulbis, and Kei Nishikori. These guys will continue to improve. Personally I'd love to see Nishikori break into the top30 next year. |

Stupid Astro! Today it was scheduled to air the TMS Paris at 6pm. Before that the Johor Open shown live took the slot for Nokia Football crazy (5.30pm-6pm) and was aired till 6pm. However damn Astro aired the Football crazy instead of the scheduled TMS Paris at 6pm.
What the heck is this??? |

Although Spain now leads 2-1 after their doubles win, I still think their chance of winning both the remaining singles match quite slim.
Del Potro and Nalbandian should win. However if Del Potro can't handle the pressure then things will go Spains way. He's most vulnerable to pressure I think since he's the least experience player in this final. |

After seeing Verdasco play against Tsonga today, he might have enough fire power to put Nadal on the back foot.
Tsonga did that to Nadal last year. Anyway, I'm looking for a Federer-Nadal final. Its nice to watch those 2 slug it out at a Major's final. |

I'm rooting for Nadal in the final against Federer.
Nadal needs to do some catching up to Roger's grand slams count. |

QUOTE(praetorian @ Feb 1 2009, 09:58 PM) To be honest this match was a total letdown......it pales to comparison to the epic semi final between Nadal vs Verdasco. Yup, I agree with you. Roger fail to beat a slower and less powerful Nadal. If its the fully rested Nadal, he's packed this final up much earlier. To start off: Roger's first serve was not as consistent and powerful as normal, it looked like he was serving at 3/4 pace, second , for a player to be gifted to have all the shots, he did NOT play enough slice backhands, even Vijay noticed that when when Roger sliced his backhand, he won almost ALL the points.... and I counted less than 14,the thing that pissed me off the most, was that he did not take full advantage that Nadal was not 100% there! The only positive I take from this match was Roger for the first 4 sets, his backhand and defence esp from the backhand was pretty good, that should be good news for the French Open 2009. Nadal what can I say, this match was his in straight sets had he been physically fit, the only thing negative thing I can say about his play was that he was overworking Fed's backhand, he should of played more off forehands, and he was serving almost 98% of his serves to Fed's backhand, thumbs up to this trainer to get his in decent shape for the final. Nadal has now 1/4 of a chance to win a Grand Slam in a single calender year, his chances for Roland Garros are looking good, *hint* he is defending champion at Wimbledon, so his odds are looking 50-50, but the US Open now thats truly is Fed's territory more so than Wimbledon, I don't like Nadal chances at the US Open, but who know's this AO win could just boost his confidence. Hope both men have a great season! On the second thoughts, I think even Verdasco would pack Federer tonight with his performance shown. |

Hi guys, just wanna highlight on a very good player from the women's side.
Carla Suarez Navarro. My good her playing style is beautiful especially her backhand. You'll be awed but unfortunately her matches aren't shown. |

Not that I'm anti Federer but from Soderling's game he really got what it takes to be this year's champ.
Nadal & Davydenko with crazy court coverage has no answers to Soderling's shots. If they don't, I think Roger too won't have it. |
