Yeah, Jelena is new no.1 as Ana crashed out early again. Anyway, should be a great match later between Novak and Andy. Wimbledon Championships - 22nd June - 5th July, *TV Schedule [Wimbledon] updating*

Currently watching Jankovic vs Arvidson and I must say that Jelena isn't doing very well. She's actually winning quite a lot of her points through Arvidson's errors and Jelena allowed her 6 straight points in the 2nd set's tie break. They're currently playing the 3rd set.
Anyway, I read somewhere that during Ana's match yesterday that there was a fan who shouted "There's a reason you're number 1!" and Ana picked up her game from then on. Anyhow I'm glad she's through to the next round @retrosnare: Fortunately I'm on holiday so I can watch the good matches. How bout you? You're really not sleeping?? QUOTE(Bepeon @ Aug 28 2008, 07:38 AM) Ivanovic is still recovering from the thumb injury.. She withdrew from Olympics because of that... The first round match will only help to give her more match practice. Yeah, the same thumb injury which since Wimbledon is still bugging Ana and it the effects can be seen in her gameplay. And like you said, I'm hoping she goes far in the US Open to get those match practice she needs. I didn't watch the Jankovic match.. but it looks like its a tough match for her. Can you tell me more bout that? I did watch the Djokovic vs Clement match. Wasn't quite exciting.... Clement doesn't have the firepower in his shots to challenge Djoko. But Djoko is having an ankle injury? The Jankovic match? I watched until she was 2-0 up in the 3rd set because I had to watch Arsenal's match. I think a more experienced player instead of Arvidson could have defeated Jelena because Arvidson didn't convert a few break points that would have changed the outcome of the entire match. |

QUOTE(Bepeon @ Aug 29 2008, 07:45 AM) Oh my god, Ana has lost to Coin in 3 sets... Very disappointing. I thought she would win the match after coming back in the 2nd set.. but she's seriously not at her best at the moment..... Missed quite a few forehands... Yeah I couldn't believe it either. Did you watch the match? I didn't but I'm assuming Ana made loads of errors and thus, giving away many free points. She hasn't been her usual self since the win at Roland Garros.. Murray, Wawrinka, Monfils, Safina, Venus and Blake all won today. ![]() |

QUOTE(Bepeon @ Sep 1 2008, 12:04 AM) He will play after this Wozniacki vs Jankovic match. Yeah but Jelena came back in the 2nd set and she looks like she's getting better with every match. Seems like Jankovic is in trouble again, as usual. P.S Roger's through to next round after beating Radek Stepanek in straight sets. This post has been edited by Nostalgia: Sep 1 2008, 03:26 AM |

A very good performance by Roger and I think, one of his best in recent months. His serves were awesome today and its definitely one of his weapons which had saved him several times. There were also moments of the old Federer magic and not forgetting that crazy lob which he did in the 3rd set. Simply stunning shot!
Congrats Roger on the fantastic win! P.S WTH is ASTRO DOING? Showing the Nadal Murray match from the start and putting it as "LIVE"??? This post has been edited by Nostalgia: Sep 7 2008, 02:08 AM |

Sad to know that Jelena didnt get her first grand slam but I guess being in a grand slam final for the 1st time might have been a disadvantage to her. However, she did have a very good tournament especially after struggling through in the early rounds. Hopefully she gets her chance again next year.
So what time is the Roger Murray match? |

Roger played a very good game against Murray and it was obvious that Murray's focus was gone when he lost the 2nd set. If Murray took the 2nd set, it would've been a very different ball game. However, I think Roger gained a lot of confidence after his win against Novak and it showed in the final. His trademark forehands were all hitting the targets. I also like that Roger is moving to the net more often nowadays. Congrats Roger! Didn't waste my effort waking up at 4.30am!
