It depends from where to where you wanna go on Yamanote Line.
Cheapest (from one station to just the following next station) is just 130 Yen.
The most expensive (from one station to the totally opposite side of the line) would be around 250 Yen.

Not sure for an answer regarding specific details for accommodations.
Like I said before, for us who stayed in Japan, usually have our own personal houses/apartments.
Guess you have to wait for that answer to come from those who had been here on a visit biggrin.gif

o, train fare not tat expensive...still ok...i wonder how much is to go from 1 prefecture to another...

lols..it starts from 130yen. a four stop ride would be at least 200-300 yen i think.

about accomodation, i think u can book a whole room for hostels and they usually have a shared pantry with basic essentials.

do u know roughly how much would tat be? to book a whole room for hostel..

sorry ya, hope u dun mind...!
THE BEST ANSWER IS, EMAIL THEM...hehehe...we also dunno the exact price, BUT as your statement with a group may be got a different price. YES its a DORMITORY/HOSTEL katil bertingkat macam hostel biasa I think everything sharing lah ...oh ya before that..di Jepun buakn macam di Malaysia, NON NEGOTIABLE and its NETT price huhuhu...tak ble runding lah dude! also u need not to give any single TIPs money, they not practice on tipping (the good thing other than countries including Msia hehehe) rclxms.gif

oh isit...tipping in malaysia is hav or dun hav also nvm, unlike country like US where its a must hav...hav to do more research d...still got 1 year to plan...

my gf is flying there in 3 weeks time
JAL from KL-Tokyo direct is approx RM3.5K return, but you can try some other alternatives which are about few hundred cheaper (i.e. Cathay which do a stopover @ HK and etc) (my mom's a travel agent so i know, and NO, and i'm not trying to advertise for my mom here)  smile.gif

icic, MAS might be cheaper by few hundreds...around 200-300..
