so by paying CC, bank help you to pay in a lump sum to the merchant, then u pay back bank every month. so if you ffk, bank bear the loss not the merchant.

= x(1/4 - x)

Ok so let's get this straight.

4x - 16x²

= (factor 4x out)

4x (1 - 4x) [first answer]

But wwlai, you can't divide 4 right because it's not an equation just factorising?

So:

4x (1 - 4x)

= (take out 4 again)

16x (1/4 - x) [second answer]
