I think he means he has done the same thing with a different company. I don't see the point in doing this myself as the company name is trademark and they can take the domain off you at anytime without paying you a dime. Try googling sony and see how many domain names have sony in it which don't belong to sony, they just file a lawsuit against anyone who does and takes ownership of the domain. If google want your google.free domain name they will just take it.

Google sites does provide free SSL hosting. You can do most of the thing, the only disadvantage you can make it as custom domain.

i just tested that Wix can perform e-commerce as well and is easy to setup + it's free unless u wan upgrade to remove ads and stuffs.

i'd recommend new bloggers to get a free custom domain at dot.tk and hosting it on blogger or 000webhost to use wordpress.

once u're familiar, u can probably buy a good .com or .net domain name
