hi, my corolla altis gen9 was having hard and noisy suspension feel. already changed a few absorber, absorber mounting, lower arm, steering rack, tie rod etc...
i suspect it could be the 205/50/R16 tyre (ori 16" facelift rim). Supposed the ori tyre size is 195/55/r16, i'm not sure by downgrading to 195/55/r16 will "dramatically" ended my nightmare of hard suspension issue...
i was thinking was it possible to use back same rim but 195/60/r16 tyre. or have to downgrade to 15" rim to get 195/60/r15 tyre? Any advise? Thanks.

what brand of tyre u use?maybe is the tyre thread patern that caused the sound?

i'm using falken 912... the noise is the suspension component knocking, "kok kok kok"... some mechanic told me altis is memang like that and blaming low profile tyre. imo, 195/55/r16 and 205/50/r16 tyre sidewall thickness doesn't looks much different...

then i suppose is not the tyre issue.maybe u can try check with other mechanic other advice?

yeah, went to numerous shops, none have the definitive answer. most of them said altis suspension is weak and memang like that, some said tyre 50 profile not suitable for malaysia's road.
my intention change "thicker" sidewall tyre, but original 195/55/r16 i think not much diff with current 205/50/r16. so that's why thinking use 195/60/r16 if can fits, or downgrade rim to 15" to utilize the 195/60/r15 thicker profile tyre...

then maybe u can try find a set of original 15  inch altis rim with the 195/60/15
or change to 195/60/16 bridgestone which is now available in market already, last time this size was rare.

yes, saw bridgestone ecopia 150 with 195/60/r16 size... what car is using this size?
i asked that tyre shop, he not sure if can fit my car, might be rubbing the fender etc?

what is ur original size bro?

195/55/r16 as mine was facelift 16" rim version.
pre-facelift they're using 15" rim with 195/60/R15.
