hi guys. i'm newbie. I'm interested to buy a Sugar Glider last time, but since i have some problems that kept me from not getting one (don't have place)(but still want to buy one after finish study). after i read about hedgehog at this thread, I think it's really suits me and i'm ready to give commitment.
the fact that the foods for them is easily to get makes me want to buy one. tame and cute for sure lah.haha

i have some questions bout the hedgehog to ask to you guys.

1) Hedgehog is diurnal. So, it should be no problem if they were exposed to the fluorescent light rite?like sugar glider cannot exposed them directly to light. so, i need to be sure bout that.

2) i'm not really getting about the cage setup. From what i understand, you guys bought toyogo box to keep hedgie inside. Is there dedicated cage for them that can i get?

Thanx in advance!

i believe that is what we called 'fleece'.

a type of liner that is acceptable to use as a bedding for hedgehog.
its a substitute for normal wood shaving.
also, highly recommended coz not messy, easy to clean, free from mite and can easily spot blood in case of emergency.
*
oh i see. so, by using fleece, we don't need to use wood shaving anymore lah?
is it the fleece is easy to get?or need to buy at petshop?
i bet need to change it in regular basis rite?

of course not.  smile.gif

hermph. that's a good question. i, myself find it hard to find.
maybe i wasn't looking at the right fleece.
as fleece is a type of fabric, u can check at ur fabric stores.

well, usually people will make 2,3 set of fleece liner.
when 1 get dirty, clean the poo 1st. then throw in the washing machine or u can hand wash it.
u see, this is when the extra set is important.

I got nothing to say unless...
If u really decided to buy a pet.. more over its the 1st time u're getting the pet... 1st expenses sure MORE expensive than 2nd expenses. So, I think buying cage, bedding, food n drinks bowl, hidebox, etc for the 1st time sure expensive as u buy it one spot smile.gif
*
I'm aware of that. Meanings that my pocket will kosong lah after buying the hedgie as well as their basic necessity. But i think it's worth it lah for the money i will spend.

Any recommended Hedgie's seller in LYN?

Thats why we always said.. think carefully before bring any pets back to home...
And yes, it is a SILENT wheel cuz I'm using it too and just a warning... make sure u put the wheel at the right spot.. if not.. ur pokimon might push it and it will fall down on top of them... ><

Breeder.. u can try to PM Bonai and another recommended seller *forgot his name* tongue.gif is Bonai's friend thou biggrin.gif

Good Luck on finding a nice n cute pokimon for urself smile.gif
*
about the pokai, i do consider it already. Gonna give it one shot lah. I think it worth it lah with that adorable pokimon.haha.

The silent wheel sounds good as it does. I'm try looking for the starter kit for hedgie from jtl. But cannot find one. Anyone knows where can i get the starter kit for hedgie?if don't have. no choice lah.need to buy one by one lah.

bout the breeder. thanx for ur info! really appreciate it!

QUOTE(omisa @ Jul 28 2008, 06:44 PM)
yeah. its as silent as its name. hehe.

just that u have to put like ceramic bowl or sumthing heavy under it to prevent it from tip off.
altho its kinda expensive, as long as it safe and the hedgie enjoy it, then it should be fine.  nod.gif
*
thanx for info omisa!

Better get a bigger tank. More space for the pokimon. In fact, some of the basic things might take up quite some place. My pokimon stays in  a 3ft toyogo box cause the hideout and wheel take most of the place.
*
owh. 3ft which means approximately 1m lah rite? never see toyogo box that big before. hey babymoli, thanks for info! next gonne see the zoo zone at PetShack! rclxms.gif

owh really?i'm just started surveying the kitten food price.
just now look at the orijen cat food price. 2.5kg for rm50.never expect the cat food can be that expensive(since i'm never have a pet before).

Royal canin easy to get ya?do u use the kitten food Royal canin?
i'm worried if the food is not that easy to get, then it should be big problem lah.

if i want to "bela" a hedgie, is 400gm will last for one month?or do i need to get a big pack of catfood?
