QUOTE(Reanne @ Jan 21 2009, 11:16 PM) Actually, I think the wheel may be too slanted and too slippery. The stand and method may be correct, but the basin used doesn't seem right. yeah, the wheel is slanted, so to compensate that, i also tried slanting it so the lower part is actually straight, will try out if it works =) i have difficult time looking for a suitable wheel but this is the best i have got so far.i can't try now cause i don have a hedgehog, perhaps i try with hamsters first.=) |

QUOTE(vincent09 @ Jan 22 2009, 12:10 AM) lzxian88, just my opinion, if the wheel can put inside the cage box then will be nice, because for me is hard to take my hedgehog put in the wheel and call him play, it just don't border you and just hiding somewhere else, I just leave the wheel in my cage box then let it play when it want to. the two boxes are actually linked together, so my guess is that the hedgehog will walk around n find himself a brand new wheel. =)mind showing me a picture of ur house so i can get a brief idea on what's in the boxes. Pictures i get from Google is not sufficient T_T |

QUOTE(meento @ Jan 22 2009, 12:40 AM) Wahhh so creative r u Izxian...1st time i ever see...1 thing u need to be concern is, hope that ur little hedgie is toilet train..Coz bummer if he/she pee n poo on ur dolls..? I think ur hedgie will bite bite all ur doll lar...anyway juz a 2 cent from me.. hehe, thx=)GooD LucK and do tell us the progress..Still, so damn creative larr u... the poo poo train i need to ask reanne about that, i don have any hedgehog at the moment.. ![]() ![]() if pee n poo on the dolls, don worry, can make new dolls or get the dolls washed.. they are all socks anyway XD so no problem if i put clean dolls in it right? =) not poisonous.. but i do wanna know more about poo and pee thing.. this is something i am not really sure even after some reading. if is toilet trained, then i think shouldn't be any prob. if the hedgehog simply poo pee everywhere, should i change the clothes n things everyday? a few days in a week? or a week @@ how is the poo look like? if i put sand, will the hedgehog covers the poo poo like cats? (opps. i have too many doubts) QUOTE(vincent09 @ Jan 22 2009, 12:46 AM) OHHH I see the box is link if i have the place, of cus i will keep extending.. i wanted to spray paints on the outer later, but i think it's better if i draw, will update later, if i got the time n mom not catching me to clean the house =)My hedgehog cage box just only have 1 water bowl ( actually is candle bowl from Ikea), meal bowl, 1 wheel and 1 huge pipe roll for my hedgehog sleep. I can't do so much thing inside because... no more space let him run lzxian88, you so creative, later u can make 4 big box link together ur hedgehog will be 'peepoo' ing on the floor itself? how do u do the cleaning? ^^ **** i am so excited in getting a hedgehog le... **** |

QUOTE(meento @ Jan 22 2009, 01:37 AM) Owwwhhh,ic..u adopted Mable from reanne...Wahh so lucky r u to past the screen test...Take good care of little Mable ya..She's so adorable... not yet =) perhaps i will be adopting mable on saturday if i pass the 'meeting' test.In ma case, ma hedgie is toilet train...Means she know lar to go to the place where she usually do her business..But she also usually tend to pee and poo on the running wheel that i provide to her..So, i usually take it out in the morning and put it back at night..I think Mable is toilet train since Reanne take care of her b4...So lets say if she poo or pee everywhere, scoop it and put it at one place where u want ur hedgie to do her business and become the toilet place..Then the place where she pee@poo, put some new bedding..I usually change the whole bedding in 2 weeks time.. LOL little durian .h.ah.a. any other name? cause i keep using hedgehog hedgehog =p saw 'hedgie' too. well, if durian won go pijak, i'll clean it the time i see it XD scope n put on the right place, ..wouldn't it be...smelly..(or this is just for toilet training) |

QUOTE(vincent09 @ Jan 22 2009, 07:51 AM) Inside my cage box I put wood bedding so, if poo or pee just clean up that bedding then kautim those durians don poo poo everyday 1? =pIf put outside running on floor, it wont poo or pee, just 1 time got poo on floor, other time just running all the way or find something knock. My hedgehog... run dam fast, just didn't notice it then disappear on my sight.... sometime like him very much when he walk around on floor then find my and just poke on my pants or just laying there The main thing I worry about my Hedgehog is, sometime he won't eat so much for few day.... and the calcium giving problem.... really don't feed what for him to eat for calcium calcium = drink anlene? (don take it seriously, i do not know either XD) QUOTE(empty_reg @ Jan 22 2009, 09:22 AM) thx =) not really troublesome, i am excited when i building itQUOTE(zoeyhanz @ Jan 22 2009, 11:25 AM) @ lzxian88 : wah~cool man~creative work ^^ aiya....regret din pass my hedgie to u ady ....haiz.... haha...nolar~ although mine nt tat good boy but he's clever guy~n cute when he's sleeping~haha thx n seems thr r nice hm waiting adorable mable wor~ but wonder if it poo n pee on ths clothes then hv to wash everyday yeh~ hope it got toilet train ~ all the best ohh ths days, mine oso din eat so much...sleeping the whole morning n evening, wake up n eat whn 7 or 8pm yeh~ n ask a ques: if a male hedgehod stay wif other male hedgehod, wil it becum fierce? or more defensive? maybe i change the floor to wood bedding too. where to find wood bedding? or can i use the one my hamster is using? can i feed the durian with hamster food (there is the rod one which is not eaten by my hamster) i am glad that this page become alive again ^^ |

QUOTE(livingmonolith @ Jan 22 2009, 01:13 PM) never tried housing both in the same encagement before, but i'd disagree to it. anyway, they take different types of food, you don't want to see your hedgehog chip its tooth gnawing sunflower seeds or stuff like that... if the durians never bite hamster, then i will try it =) they can play with each otheranyway, i'd recommend wood shavings or breeder celect as the bedding, to control the odour. hedgehogs poop every single day, and if you're using other types of bedding (eg towel or newspapers) the odour will be pretty strong and intolerable. the bedding i have this for hamster: ![]() the breeder celect i found it there http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/727957 http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/321988 but this is in the starter kits. since i can use the hamster one, once finish i will try breeder celect. i think they are more n less work the same, will try out breeder celect next time =) *update* my hamster has been keeping all the foods and run around the hedgehog house until i saw fooodddssss~~ XD This post has been edited by lzxian88: Jan 22 2009, 04:19 PM |

QUOTE(vincent09 @ Jan 22 2009, 10:06 PM) Chipsi wood bedding is ok 1, but sometime u will see those wood stick on bedding, for hedgehog just pick up those wood stick, because my Hedgehog get hurt until bleeding because of those wood stick..... I have check all my thing in cage ... all is round had smooth 1 beside those wood stick..... thx for letting me know about that =) i will be more careful~ 2 days left before adoptionQUOTE(empty_reg @ Jan 22 2009, 11:34 PM) @ lzxian88 : Your durian will likely have the hamster for dinner. They are meat eaters. Besides I believe your hamster won't find it too pleasant to wander around the habitat with eyes closed and bumping into the durian. the durian actually eats animal this big? i thought durian eats insects, so i wasn't expecting him to eat.my hamster seems to enjoy the big mansion of the durian than his own. he doesn't feel like going home » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « nice picture u have there.. =) upload some poo n pee too, i haven't seen it b4 |

U may missed out Hedgehog and hamster interaction:gosh... ive to wait now... Here: ![]() my hedgehog (mable) rolls into ball and don't really bother the hamster, but the hamster is curious, always go near the hedgehog and leap to him, the hedgehog will then shake a bit and the actions repeat a few times then the hamster don't bother and go eat hedgehog food XD |

QUOTE(zoeyhanz @ Feb 10 2009, 09:04 PM) hey...guys...or lzxian88 nope. it still look slippery.. making the plastic wheel rough abit? it will think it is not confortable to walk or run.the wheel u made urself, do u guys use sand paper or sumthing to make the plastic wheel rough a bit? or stick sumthing on to let the hedgie run? hehe,i jz finish the wheel^^ my hedgehog runs quite fast, the wheel is actually not slippery, unless there is water in it. how to make hedgie turns up side down? =p Added on February 11, 2009, 4:57 am QUOTE(meento @ Feb 9 2009, 12:55 AM) haha. my hedgie don link my hand.. she smells.. then i block her way, so she sort of like biting me but no pain one. so more than 10 times.. but then the last time she bites with teeth.. XDif compare to cats, hedgie one will be more painful cause of the small teeth (give out more pressure? XD) but anyway, that's the last time she bites, since that day she already knew my hand is not edible. she is super cute ^_________^ will post up some video i take using phone =p even though i turn my flash light on, she still walk to pose in front of my camera phone =X one more extra note. after bathing her, i can touch and hold her for longer time. perhaps she is afraid of the water more than my hand. she is no longer that defensive (she is once super duper defensive, just by looking at her she will roll into a pokeball) This post has been edited by lzxian88: Feb 11 2009, 04:57 AM |
