To be honest.. pokimon likes to be left alone by themself
but... we can do bonding process which means to let them know we are the owner n we wont bring harm to them so they can be less caution with us. Mine is okay if I pick him up and play with him even I hand feed him sometimes. One thing he din really like is petting if he's in good mood he will let me pet him and he will just sit still.. but he's in bad mood... he will let me take him out but he wont let me pet him. Other than that he's good with me n till now he never bite me even once Added on September 12, 2008, 10:58 pmForgot to add, teddie, make sure ur food bowl is small enuf to prevent ur pokimon to put himself inside the bowl cuz sometimes they tend to poo n pee while eating. So the best opt was to provide them with a bowl which they cant fit themself into it This post has been edited by muchan86: Sep 12 2008, 10:58 PM |

Hiyuki bout the bedding... u can try to go for Breeder Celect a cat litter. Its quiet expensive compare to chipsi but I my self choose BC better than others cuz its safer and odorless

teddie, put him into a small box or u can use shoes' box. Put some bedding for him inside there. And make sure the box u put him in cant let him see outside then he's be find. To make it more understanding, use shoe's box and close the top of the box

Hiyuki : dun forgot... ur echty 'might' be from wild caught so the terms tame u need to take ur time to take him. Most of our pokimon not really bitey... mine never bite me before but I do know some others are mistakenly bite their owners hand as a food. Me, my self sometimes I handfeed him the mealies and yes he's so aggressive when I fed him mealies. But i do handfeed him with kibbles and he never bite me also
empty_reg : have u ever try give mealies for him? cuz mine last time he dun wan to eat at all but when i try feeding him again he likes |

^It means ur fella has never touch mealies before
nevermind... slowly and take ur time. Mine also like that... try not give him the same amount of kibbles u usually gave... let him try the mealies.. or u try to to cut the mealies into 2 part, half half see if he dare to eat or not |

Haha... Dun be surprise with what Kelvin said... cuz he's really 'kampung' wan
Actually putting a pet into ur room is okay as long as u clean them regularly then it wont affect ur health la. As for me now, I got 3 pets inside my room. Well only glider n pokimon that really inside my room. My GP I put her inside my toilet room as we never use it, only use the sick to wash hand n a toilet la.. |

sleeping box = hiding box
Of course they wont pee n poo inside their sleeping place same as us, we dunt want our bed smelly n dirty rite? =] toilet tray u can buy those normal toilet tray but since hedgie foot are small n fragile, I suggest u to take out the top of the tray as that may caused their legs fall inside n may caused unwanted accident. Just take out the cover n put their poo inside repeatedly until they know its toilet for them. This u may take time as diff hedgie have diff personalities and some may accept it very fast while some might need more time to learn how to use the tray |

^ its true that no exotic pets for young kids... not even a hamster if they cant take care of it or even know how to take care of them rather than just feed them alone
bout the quills.. some may have same experienced the same with me as whenever I played with my pokimon, my hand tend to feel itchy cuz of his quill.. I'm not sure if it dangerous cuz I always wash my hand before n after playing with my pets using antiseptic washing soap and so far I had nothing serious happen cos of my pets |

QUOTE tengkubasri: haha.. cutiee hedgie u got there. it's normal the hedgie will bite ur finger at first, coz it's still not familiar with u. Hedgie will always sniff sniff n bite bite new things it come across to, like a way to test out wat is harmful or harmless. XD QUOTE mine still occasionally bite my fingers when i bring them out of the cage. but they usually self-annoint after that, so i guess they're just getting back the familiar smell of the owners. my hedgehogs usually will lick and bite after shower, not just my finger but the pieces of cloth, my own clothes, my foot even, so it's pretty normal, don't worry. Mine till now never bite me even once Since the 1st day I got him also he din bite me What can I suggest already written earlier... give him at least 2 days for him to know ur smell n settle him self with his new home... he bite u maybe cuz he scared of the new environment and he thinks u mean dangerous to him thats y he bite to protect him self |
