They r so cute that i dont want to risk them with the walk on the grass, unless i know the grass is safe from pesticide, dogs/cats pee poo, n sorts.

Please take note ya. It's FUN but not HEALTHY for them.

In that case, remove the wheel if u have one. Scared he will injured his legs more if not strong enuf.

Start feeding some mealworms that has been gutloaded. Gutload with foods that r high in calcium like choy sum, rolled oat, wheat germ, so on.

Is it tame? Does he rools up when u approach him? If he shows no sign of aggresiveness, then maybe u can put him up for adoption, rather than releasing him to the bush.

Please find another hedgehog owner near ur place to have him checked. This hedgehog is too cute to be put in a bush.

1) well when i transfered it from the box to my faunaquarium..it was scared and rolled into like a ball and made sounds..maybe protecting itself ? will hedgehogs bite ? i mean is it aggresif ?
Let him settle down first. New environment, new smell makes him uneasy, hence rolled into a ball. Put ur smelly clothes as his sleeping blankets, change when too dirty. This will make him more used o ur smell, and within a week or two, u can touch him slowly d.

2) how often do i need to feed it ? coz i hope not to overfeed it..haha..
U feed them when they r awake, mostly at midnight, 1 tablespoon. Then when u leave for school/work early morning, another tablespoon.

3) where to find the hedgehog wheel ?

Here is my Humprey housing. A Zoozone 2, water bottle, clay bowl, metal wheel, bedding is Chipsi Classic, and few golf balls.

The metal wheel dunno get from where. Coz i bought him over from a lyner who put him on adoption on some fees.

Where u get the wheel? Expensive not?

Hedgies r like that. What is ur definition to train the hedgie? Taming or Litter Train?

Ok, lets start with TAMING/Bonding : U place ur smelly t-shirt, with ur sweat already dry, in the sleeping area of ur hedgie. Doing this, u actually train it to become familiar to ur smell, so the next time [depends on how consistent u do this, the shirt part and the hand taming part, must work together] u put ur hand to pet it, it smells u, and r not afraid of u.

Then, if u want LITTER TRAINED hedgie : U have to have a litter tray, or a normal rectangular cat tray. Put some breeder celect in it. How do u litter train ur hedgie? B4 all this, take ur hedgie and keep it in a safe closure, and give ur cage/closure a thorough cleaning, scrub brush wipe, so all it takes to remove the stains ur hedgie has caused. The idea is to remove the pee poo stain it has caused. Coz now we wana train it, TO PEE POO on the desired area only.

After all r cleaned and dry, put some bedding. And the needed stuffs inside the cage/closure. Now the tricky part is : well, u have to wait for ur hedgie to go to toilet aka pee poo. When he does this, whether u r fast or too late, meaning he already pee poo, transfer it to the litter tray/rectangular cat tray.

Doing this, u actually is directing him to get the idea to pee poo only in the tray. Continue to do this till u see it pee poo itself, then u have accomplished the mission. Dont feel miserable if it doesnt work out, it only means it didnt get it yet. Some r slow learners, but if u dont mind changing the bedding n sort. Just skipped this part, like me! HAHA I cant trained Humprey, by the time i got him, is already 1.5years old.

Haha. I got Humprey when his age is 1.5years. I did try to LITTER TRAIN him, but to no vail.

Guess he has used to his old habits d. Hmm but at least he get accustomed to my smell d, hence i can say the TAMING/BONDING went well enuf for me to pat and pick him up.

Now he isnot so FAT d lor. Last time he was that FAT coz i just got him from adoption.

Since he is with me, he isnt allow free choice feeding. He is on 2 tablespoon of kibbles at most.

So now he slim down a bit.

PLEASE refer to previous threads on WHY RC is GOOD for HEDGIE..

Royal Canin : Kitten 34, Fit 32 [depends on ur baby age, mine is adult, so i feed him Fit 32..]

RC Kibble is deemed the most suitable for hedgie coz of the ingredients and also the nutrition values in it meets the requirements by hedgehogs.

So, please dont ask again why this brand XX is not ok meh, that brand XXX ok not, those kind of questions.

Go read them up. They were meant to be as a reference for new owners, not to be kept like that.
