Another possible diagnosis for your problem would be a "broken" silent switch. The switch with the orange spot could be dysfunctional due to some "extraordinarily powerful" sudden shocks, hence whether or not you try to unmute the switch the audio remains muted.

No worries. There is a bypass you can try in order to solve your problem. NOTE : I'M UNABLE TO GURANTEE THAT THIS'LL SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM, BUT UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES IT'S DEFINITELY WORTH A SHOT.

1. Install VideosTone (this will allow your phone to bypass the Celestial.framework and play videos/ringtones even when then silent switch is muted)

a) Add "http://app.ifonetec.com" to your Installer.app sources list and refresh.
b) Install and reboot.


2. Install Silent Switch Bypass (this will recover all the System sounds, eg. keyboard, sent/received sms, voicemail, lock/unlock etc.)

a) Add "http://installer.iclarified.com" to your Installer.app sources list and refresh.
b) Install and reboot.
