any instruments are capable of making music.
doesn't matter which one you pick up, you will be able to play and write music smile.gif
i'd say its good to start off with the piano, then everything else will be easier to learn in my opinion icon_rolleyes.gif

agreed somewhat....
piano gives you a strong theory base, making everything else abit easier.
problem is, if you're trying to write metal or soemthing, piano ain't gonna help you too much

with the modern devices nowadays, I strongly believe that almost everyone can make music. Notably through programs like Reason, FL studio, garageband and so on and so forth. however, to make GOOD music is a challenge in itself.
It is essential that you have a strong theory background, but some modern musicians may tell you, theory is not compulsory. and that with basic theory, generally around grade 4, you should be able to get by making simple music just by listening and feeling.

Ultimately though, it comes down to having a good sense of music either naturally(from a music background), or cultivated(been excessively exposed to music at a young age)

instruments are a way of expressing the music and understanding how to play it. I'll say, if you've got a flawless sense of music, you don't even need to learn an instrument at all to make music!
but thats just what i believe. And i would like to meet someone who can actually accomplish that ^^

By the way, Instrument is spelled like this. Without the 'C' hehe, just thought you might wanna know ^^

Cheer~
