I've had my guinea pig for a few yrs now he's an abby mix and from a litter of my previous guinea pigs....I had lotsa guinea pigs back then but then I had to admit I wasn't a responsible owner as I was still young...like 12 and my sister was away....so they all died of a disease at the same time...not sure what....except the one I have now....his name is caramel.... he's been living alone in quite a small cage but transfered it to a big cage that I used back then when I had more GPs but recently I've brought a female home from my friend bcos he wanted her to breed.....but he doesnt seem interested....maybe the female too ugly looks like a mouse without a tail...nvm....here're some pics taken last yr...have some new pics but lazy to post them.... I read in some forums that when they put fleece in the cage the guinea pig won't pee and shit on the fleece and will only do it on the bedding?? was wondering how to go without bedding as it's really tiring to clean the cage all the time...I'm quite busy with my studies...as I have SPM this yr....pls help....of course I want to do all this with the guinea pig still feeling comfy... QUOTE(XiaoDan @ Aug 21 2008, 12:28 AM) I will! Thanks.. Anyway, pet stores in Melaka always sell sick guinea pigs.. I have no idea where to get healthy ones in future.. As the pic above, I can asume that the pet shop owner didn't even bother to feed them.. The fruits they provided are rotten ones in their enclosure.. OMG! pet shops in melaka sell guinea pigs overpriced too....a smooth coat guinea pig can be sold for 180....crazy isnt it? My friend told me she went to ask once and she told me it was 180 and when I told her they sell much cheaper in KL for a long coat breed and then she was surprised....nvr been to king kong to see their guinea pigs but my sis said that they have many varieties? May I ask where is petshack? This post has been edited by chuakz: Aug 21 2008, 01:48 PM

QUOTE(Juztiny @ Aug 30 2008, 07:09 PM) Usually if you see loss of hair quite extensively, then you have to inspect closely, can see the skin may look quite redish or flecky then confirm skin fungal problem. Like this I will bath it with fungal treatment shampoo. no flaky or reddish skin......just a patch of skin with a low amount shorter than normal hair...

QUOTE(Juztiny @ Aug 31 2008, 12:12 AM) How old is your GP? I'm sure its fur should be longer than abby. Perhaps it is still young (below 8 months old). My Peruvian can see its fur very long only after 8 months old. Prior to that it looks like a mixed Peruvian (Peruvian mixed with abby). it looks exactly like an abby...maybe already 3 yrs old....maybe more to the mother's side....the mums genes are more dominants.... Added on August 31, 2008, 2:44 pmhey guys i wanna ask if hay will become bad when being stored?...cause in Melaka it is not easy to find a constant supply of hay...plus it is almost impossible.....so I was thinkin bout buying hay in a large quantity and storing it.....of course....if anyone knows where to find hay in melaka pls inform me....
