QUOTE(potion @ Jul 5 2008, 09:15 PM) wait till nokia and sony e goes touch screen for standard phone then will the iphone be outdated. not just yet. By the time the bolded parts happened, Apple would have already invented a phone that uses 3D projection etc lol and implement virtual reality system such as seen in Bourne Minority, Iron Man hahaThis post has been edited by Vor: Jul 6 2008, 05:13 PM |

well, if you all think that the multi-touch interface on the iPhone is great, you'll have to realize that Apple's only currently scratching the surface of what's really possible with multi-touch.
Check out this presentation from a researcher at NYU: http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/jeff_ha...ouchscreen.html And at the same time, do keep in mind that that presentation was done back in 2006 too. Remember Iron Man the movie, with the 3D CAD system that he was using to design his armor? Multi-touch is merely the first step in making such interfaces possible, as you'll first need to have a user input system that accepts multiple points of differing types of input (such as movement direction, movement patterns, pressure, etc) simultaneously. Nah, one way or another, the first iPhone will always leave its legacy and mark on the world. So whether or not it goes outdated in another, say 2-3 years time, everyone will always admire and love the first ever "revolutionary" phone from Apple which started the whole finger-touch craze. I know I will

Obviously he means capacity lah...the 8GB and the 16GB 3G iPhone.
Back to the topic, as long iPhone still support higher firmware with new 3rd party applications it won't be outdated. |

iphone at any time of the day, is always a step higher than conventional mobile phones.
it will take some time for their competitors to catch up in terms of technology. |
