Is there any good one out there for RM300-400? Which do you recommend?

(non-disc changer)

I am using Pioneer DEH-1050e with Pioneer TS-A1672e 6" 2-way speaker for front, and stock speaker at rear for my Kenari. Installed it couple weeks back. Quite good. Can blast quite loud.

Some drawback - no mute button, no RDS.

yeah I opened that in a wrong forum, then I came here and opened another one, and then a mod moved the previous one into here. laugh.gif

anyway I'll increase my budget to rm300-400 to get one with mp3 functionality, which is the best choice now?

Also, where should I go to install it? will any shop do?

If a accessory shop don't know how to install a HU properly, then that shop don't even qualify for the business.
It's the most basic stuff. Connecting wires only.

Brothers, well the product they sell with their own label, quality so so only.

Labour charge would be higher if compared to other store (non-chained type).

To install a HU, usually labour charge only RM20-30. Cosplus is RM40. Brothers, certain branches RM40, mostly RM50-60.

You get better sound quality with a player without MP3 capability when reading a normal audio CD, taht's a compromise when you pay more but get less other than the extra crappy MP3 sound in your car. shakehead.gif

I just bought my self JVC G385, entry level at Brothers. RM299. You can just go there, you will find many ranges of producst. But they only got JVC Sony Kenwood Panasonic only. For MP3+ Aux In you can get at your budget. I don't know why I pick JVC. Just PIck only, SOny and Kenwood alos provide this price range. Installation, I agree is kind crappy. Since I just do normal install for my aero iswara which wiring and power already provided. I just buy ciplak 4 inch speaker to place at the rear side (original place). Now really sounds crappy. I need buy additional board and cutting for placing 5 or 6 inch speakers. Budget so budget. I think better you go for better unit. Then slowly upgrade. My speaker only RM50. So even u change u don't feel the pain. If you pay few hundred for china brand player sekali not happy want to change, they you will feel really pain.

Don't really recommend you to buy from brothers..their installation sucks big time. If you could increase a bit..perhaps kenwood 4039 or 5039 would be okay. Just remember when buying mp3 HU, make sure its plug and play type. Some HU requires some kind of adapter..which is stupid and unnecessary for me
