Hey guys, I'm running my rig on a DP35DP Intel Motherboard. And the most I can overclock my E6850 is 3.2GHz. Using Orthos, I've identified the RAM as the problem. Because I'm using an Intel motherboard, I cannot adjust the frequency of the RAM from BIOS. I've been using SetFSB to OC my pc. Is there any other way to tweak my RAM? Otherwise I've hit a brick wall.

Intel boards are not made for overclocking. I don't think you can do it unless Intel unlocks their bios recently.

Ahh, that's sad . It's a pity I only got into overclocking *after* I got my rig. I still plan to upgrade my rig at the end of the year though, probably new RAM and a new mobo. I'll be back asking for advice then. Thanks guys

You can tune ur ram timing with Memset..

can memset really tweak the ram on the fly?

But can I set the frequency of the ram to match the CPU? Cause my ratio between RAM and CPU frequency is 6:5 now. I want them to match.

Go into bios and change to 1:1 divider

I haven't found that option in the DP35DP bios. Is that setting available? Where is it?

what's your ram's stock frequency ??
800Mhz or 667Mhz ?
if its 800Mhz FSB, you can do it through the bios by strapping the ram and CPU together as 1:1

Then your CPU will be OCed and not your ram

That much I already know. My problem is that my motherboard is an Intel motherboard and does not support OC-ing. Which is why I'm asking for an alternative to adjusting the frequency from BIOS. Cause that option simply isn't available on this motherboard.

you can try the bios there is a setting called something ratio or divider.. Normally it is set to auto u can set it to 1:2 to get ur ram to run at the same speed as cpu fsb..

The closest thing in BIOS I can find is Reference Frequency. No idea what that is.

Nope. It shows 400MHz, 333MHz, 266MHz and 200MHz. I tried adjusting it, but it seemed to have no effect whatsoever. I'm out of ideas.

I already did that. Thats why I said it had no effect.
