I am disapppointed to ask this here because of lack of info on BNM's website.

Is the the old RM5 banknote (and similarly old RM10) still legal tender? (see the pic link)

It'll be the same value. The shop won't treat it as collectable or antique.

You know the old RM1 note, I don't think this is accepted, and the RM1 coin, is also not accepted, but I know lots of grocery shops would be too happy to take it off my hands.

1 cent coin still a legal tender of currency, just the scheme of rounded up reduce its usage, BNM hasn't said it is not legal tender, if not mistaken.
So if you go to the bank to deposit 1 cent, they still need to accept it. But under rounded up scheme, you must pay in 5 cents or 10 cents, but it doesn't mean you can pay in 5 x 1 cent coin, unless BNM has stated 1 cent coin is not legal tender anymore, if not mistaken, BNM hasn't.

Rm500 & Rm1000 is no legal tender in public, but one can exchange with BNM.

Only those BNM mentioned that the currency notes or coins which are not longer legal tender (like Rm500 Rm1000), otherwise everyone in Malaysia must accept it. Old notes doesn't mean it is not legal tender.

Having said it, some really old notes which being preserved well might catch some higher value than its face value if you can find somebody interest to collect it as antique.

1 cent is still a legal tender, just rounding off mechanism get rid of its usage.

Old RM20 also a legal tender. Rm1 coin, Rm500 and Rm1000 are not.
