what is the diffrent between EIST and Asus own AI gear?
i also got the same problem. i've disable the EIST and AI gear, but my clock speed is still ar 2GHz. using EIST and AI gear...my clock speed can go up until 2.9GHz(mine is e8200) when i run heavy programs or games. IMO there a pro n con if u disable the EIST or AI gear.. pro: u save elec bill if u torrent alot like me.... con: i dunt think ESIT n AI gear is smart enuogh. |

^- yes, indeed, EIST (speedstep) is created so that if ur computer is in light loading it will decrease the speed/multiplier and therefore reduce power/heat. when ur computer is in heavy loading (ie:games, encoding ... ) den the mutiplier will automatically increase back.

Turn Intel Speedstep Technology back on. It saves you your electricity bill. The motherboard will automatically "underclock" your processor to save power. It will go back to the actual processor speed when you do something with your PC.
