3. Yes, can decode all HD codecs internally but only via HDMI (same as PS3, but PS3 can't bitstream). For multichannel analogue outs you'll need BD55.

4. Yes, I bought a 100W stepdown/up transformer from Jln Pasar for RM68. The player actually only uses approximately 20W. (PS3 uses 380W)

I bought from a third party seller at Amazon, 6ave. On the player's page at Amazon, look on your right you'll find choices of third party seller. Good luck bro. thumbup.gif

Anfieldude, bitstream rocks! The audio actually feels crispier and adds more weight to it, like the sound stage opened up a bit. And picture seems to have better blacks and sharper than the PS3. It may all just be placebo, but what the heck, I'm enjoying this. rclxm9.gif

Apisgogo and Htkaki, don't wait anymore. Get yours quick! brows.gif

Glau, I got it for US$222 from Amazon with free super-saver shipping to Apisgogo's USA re-shipping address. They re-shipped to me using DHL, the charge is lower than DHL's online price. You can ask Apisgogo for the re-shipping quotes.

Piscesguy, I don't have a good analogue cables to test that yet, not interested to use the cap ayam one that came with the player. tongue.gif

Rthj, yes, free 2 BDs but have to mail in and they will send to US address only. Currently got no one there staying long enough to do it, the offer ends February 2009 I think.

Again, thanks to Apisgogo for making this happen. thumbup.gif

I am still waiting for someone to bring me a unit from UK...around this region...UK seems to be the best buy for this unit....at GBP195. need to mail in to get Narnia Prince Caspian....box comes with National Treasure 2 and for a limited time...Amazon UK let you choose a 3rd BD from a list.

The PS3 uses 140 watts for the 40GB model, not 380 watts actually but it's a huge difference from the power consumed on a dedicated BD player.

The player itself is $222. There are many shipping options, Vpost one of them. But I use DHL which a little bit more expensive, but cheaper than DHL's normal quote. Thanks to Apisgogo for the service, you can PM him for more info. biggrin.gif

I got it cheap bro, cheaper than the Malaysia Edition PS3. Peasants like me sure can afford it. Your's arriving soon right? whistling.gif

Still thinking whether to sell my PS3 or not.

The new 40GB (now with 80GB HDD) uses smaller processor that saves power a little bit, but still high at 140W. My PS3 is the old 80GB model (CHECE), the one with many memory card slots and USBs, PS2 game and SACD compatible.

Cleared from the customs processing in half hour. No tax whatsoever. biggrin.gif

Didn't use ComGate though, it was an almost similar service by our own forumer, Apisgogo. thumbup.gif

Yeah, I don't play games, but the real Aiman does. However, he's now busy with the new PSP, that's why I'm considering to sell if I can get a very good price. hmm.gif
