Normally panels with 1080p have better specs, so you're not paying more just for 1080p. That was why I settled for a 1080p panel because of the better constrast and other features too. It's a win-win situation at the end whether 1080p is important or not but to me, 1080p/24fps is important if you're into BDs and HD-DVDs.

I hope they can include a dedicated scaler for standard dvds and 1080i BD contents, concerts or even documentaries. Most dedicated players can't deinterlace 1080i properly. If it's below RM2K, it's even better but have a bad feeling it won't happen that soon in Malaysia unless we have China made BD players flooding the market with super cheapo price.

Nice... a BD player which is almost the same price with Pioneer Kuro Plasma. 

DESA seems to have BD player at RM16xx price range, based on recent ad. Wonder which model.

Anfieldude, bitstream rocks! The audio actually feels crispier and adds more weight to it, like the sound stage opened up a bit. And picture seems to have better blacks and sharper than the PS3. It may all just be placebo, but what the heck, I'm enjoying this.

Rthj, yes, free 2 BDs but have to mail in and they will send to US address only. Currently got no one there staying long enough to do it, the offer ends February 2009 I think.
