sifus, i hav a question pls...

im running on Palit Sonic HD4850;

when i OC it 730Mhz core, 1050Mhz mem

then play games (such as GTA4 or other 3D games) after some time, d screen will blackout, then VPU recover comes up n then my desktop turn into very ugly 8 bit 640x480, then says cant detect my graphics card

i hav 2 reboot then only can play games again

if running on 725Mhz, 1035Mhz mem its sooo stable can play for many many hrs

I dunno if its bcoz of hot temp? or insufficient power? or my card got prob?

using stock cooler fan runs on 85%(sonic cooler ok not reference) n juice from Enermax FMAII 460W

hmmm..... i dun wanna invest in the wrong item...

dats y... its not for noobies to play around... does your mobo have 2 pcie slot? get another card, put the problematic card in the 2nd slot, and use rbe and winflash to flash back default bios for ur 4850... and take this as a lesson smile.gif

edit: must blame OC4/3 oso, u recommended him soft vmod tongue.gif

core clock can go high but not mem clock T_T... mem clock push too high with core clock = artifacts... tak puas giler  yawn.gif

I dun blame anybody bcoz its my own choice to play around tongue.gif

anyway, everyone's a noobie from start

I dun wanna b a noobie forever dats y i opted to try.....found out this winflash does hav some probs to work with Palit Sonic hd4850, other boards i dunno la, but from the infos i read, works well with most reference boards

FYI, my motherboard has no 2x PCIE or onboard, so I borrowed a PCI vga card from a Pentium classic.....re flash ori bios with ATIflash (dos), startup using USB stick go into DOS, flash it with command 'atiflash -p 0 newbios.bin'

i fixed the prob with zero cost and my sonic hd4850 now back to normal...

in case anybody needs help, PM me, i'll try my best to help cool2.gif

mind telling us exactly how u tweak ur card with rbe?
*
i followed the Techpowerup guide n i jz tried again yst; I loaded my previous bios into RBE, nvr change a single setting, try flashing it....then it says bad checksum cant flash somthing liddat....

even if i acquire my own bios n reflash oso same error msg came out, so i knew i shudnt proceed or i'll end up bricking it (again)

i see.... well, try this if u dun mind

1. overclock using ati overdrive
2. go to profile manager and save the profile
3. go to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\ATI\ACE\Profiles if ure using vista, xp go to C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\AppData\Local\ATI\ACE\Profiles if not mistaken
4. open the .xml file using notepad

u should see something like this:

do it at your own risk smile.gif
