Hi guys, im still new at OCIng GPU... im using riva tuner... and i wanna run stability test on the overclock... the thing is that i cant seem to get 3D mark to work in my com even when i let it run 10 minutes, i doest work...
my question is, beside Mark 3D, what other program can be use as GPU OC stability testing...  and also what soft ware can be use to see the GPU temp..

using gigabyte 4850 zalman

anyone with clockspeed more than what CCC's cap experience VPU recovery while gaming (after few hours), but not while benchmarking/stressing?

i just tried " the last remnant" benchmark test, and i during the "flying bird monster" stage, there some minor artifact appear, speacially on the sky, where u can see red dot blinking! and i clock my GPU to 700/990 using riva tuner, temp is around 66, and i set my fan speed into 100% or should i change a better vga cooler? coz i using stock cooler now
*
u use HD4830 rite? tuned down your memory clock.

HD4830 memory clock is hard to oc....but the core clock can fly high brows.gif

oh ya, my own personal-gpu-stability-test... run DMC4 benchmark with all super high + 8xmsaa, if one doesn't encounter artifact/no-texture screen until the end...i assume the clock is stable tongue.gif

pikachu, u think how much can my phenom II 920 OC to ?
*
im not sure, vista can detect it pretty well.

phenom II 920 can achieve as high as >4000ghz, but u need to have good rams/cooler/mobo

as for not-so-extreme oc, maybe around 3.5~3.7ghz, but need to play with vNB/vcore/vdimm

gues the sapphire stock cooler is not good enough! guys xigmatek battle axe and artic cooler accelero twinturbo which wan beter?
*
Windows XP rite?
If your VPU recover appear, either core/memory clock is OCed too high.

Since you says you overclock through CCC, revert your memory clock back to normal, and re-run the application that you experience VPu recover, in order to find either your core clock, or memory clock is not stable.

I do think the memory clock is the problem here, try increase the memory by 5~10Mhz slowly and re-test the stability, to get the best memory clock of your card biggrin.gif

If ur custom cooler have ram heatsink, maybe you can higher memory clock biggrin.gif
